Man I wish I had a way to watch the recaps of the show, but Having a near 50 Jericho be inaugural champ is a no no for me. If they wanna give it to an ex wwe guy for more exposure, I’d say give it to Moxley after a short page reign

Think it will be Jericho to get more eyes on the show. Page is getting a nice push though and looks like being a big star for AEW. AEW looks like they are going to have a good main event scene.

It will probably be Jericho who will then end up losing it to Moxley. As great as Omega is casual fans won’t know him so they’ll have to build him up on TNT before they slap the strap on him.

Hangman. I think it would help to have a new face win it.
Really can’t go wrong either way. Jericho has enough experience and knowledge that I have no doubt he would do a great job.

While I can see the value Jericho still has, being a heel and being an Attitude Era guy, it would REALLY send the wrong message for him to be the first to win it. I think Adam Page has to be it by virtue of being the younger guy.

I feel like they might give it to Page, have a quickish turnaround to Moxley, and then use beating him to build Omega with the casual audience.

Originally I was going to say Jericho but nah, Page works best. He's a young guy who'll be around a while who can be made so give it to him. Afterwards transition it to Moxley or Pac and keep it going.

I voted Page, but I am honestly cool with either option.

I’d go with Page, just to build up your own guy as the first champ. There’s not much of a reason to put it on Jericho.

Page is probably the correct decision and would send the better message... however I would be alright with Jericho being the first ever champion and losing it to Omega down the line.

I see it going to Jericho then Omega then to either Moxley or Page.

I can see this scenario happening at all out
Page def Jericho becomes 1st champ Mox def omega maybe due to jerichoference
1st tnt show Omega vs jericho in the rubber match (each has won 1) Moxley vs Page AEW championship match

There’s a big upside in Jericho as the first AEW champion just based on his star power and name value, but I’m expecting Page to take it as they likely want younger talent on top to start.

I'd say Jericho so he can have a run, get some more mainstream exposure, then put a young guy over.

Can I just say that I absolutely love the fact we've split the vote on who should be the first champion? Shows that simply having the two of them in that slot makes the match booking itself as extremely smart, since you're never going to please everyone, but it's about as balanced as you can get at finding a middle ground that's acceptable by your audience.
That said, I went with Jericho simply because I feel Page still has a bit more to prove to the mainstream audiences before being "the face of the company," whereas Jericho has limited time in his career left and I feel he can help the company a lot more as a target for the young guys to chase after for a year or so before passing the proverbial torch to the man for the job. Whether it's Omega, Page, Moxley, or someone else in the company that's yet to rise in the ranks, we shall see.

It's pretty cool, and I'm not gonna turn this into a WWE sux kinda deal because I'm a fan of them too, but for years I feel like I've been conditioned to knowing who is going to win a title match, because the future storylines are so obvious.. So it's really refreshing getting a title match where it really feels like either guy can win it. Having said that, I think they should build a bit longer to Page's title win.

Jericho. I feel Page could benefit more from a lengthy title chase.

Jericho. Adding that accomplishment to his resume sceams heel heat.

Can’t go wrong with either option
It should be Page. They are basically trying to continue to put him on the level of Omega, Cody and Bucks. Doing this is a great first step and a reward for all the hard work he has put in
Jericho for the heel work alone makes this work.

I don't know much about Page other than he seems to be the 'lowest ranked' member of the Elite and so maybe wouldn't be best choice for first Champion.
Having said that, Jericho, as good as he is, is still an ex WWE guy who has been showcased and remained prominent for the last quarter century. As much as I like Jericho in the ring, he doesn't need the rub, or the damn ego boost.
I don't know where is best to go from here.
