If Punk ever becomes a full time wrestler again, I am 100% convinced that AEW is the place it will happen. I'm just nowhere near 100% convinced that the "if" condition will be met to lead us to the "then."

I could see them trying to get him in just before their TV starts. It just depends if Punk want to wrestle again. Never say never in wrestling.

He wouldn't need to wrestle. Just appearing now and then would give them a huge boost.

I don't see Punk coming in until they're established, everyone having a role on the card so he's not lost in the shuffle while they're establishing a bunch of talent, who are effectively new guys to the audience they're hoping to capture. I'm sure he'll als want to see how the overall shows are booked, too, we've seen two standalone shows, an ongoing thing may be an entirely different beast. Year two or three, should they run a taping or PPV in Chicago, that would be the time I could see him appearing.

I think Punk was honest when he said he was sick of wrestling and he is hard-headed.
Not impossible of course.I think if he appears will be in a Bret Hart role.Just a quick show, put over someone in the microphone and leave.

Even one match would be HUGE for them.

I doubt he's ever coming back either but I think Ambrose has shown there might be a difference between "sick of wrestling" and "sick of WWE".

I think Punk was honest when he said he was sick of wrestling and he is hard-headed. . While at the same time appearing under a mask at Indy shows (and was supposedly going to be on Road Diaries 3 until the lawsuit came out)

I say its a fair exception.

I just can't see Punk ever being a full-time wrestler ever again. Maybe he makes a one-off appearance here or there in AEW or even WWE if he ever buries the hatchet with Triple H. But I think he's just done with that part of his career.

Yeah, and let's be really honest here, Punk's got some pretty shot knees, a questionable back and had a cracked skull once upon a time on top of all the little things he's had over the years of wrestling and him getting older. Dude's probably not really looking to roll the dice on another big full time run.

Probably for the best that he’s not there at the beginning, as it could easily become the CM Punk show for a lot of fans. Let AEW get going and develop an identity and then if Punk wants to come in for a run work him in without him being the absolute focal point of everything.

CM Punk would be a huge get for them.
Not quite Tinashe level, but really who is on Tinashe's level?

I mean...I really don't care if Punk ever wrestles again, and if they built the show around him they'd be asking for trouble as his ego could very easily get the better of many other guys they're trying to establish if his antics in the WWE is anything to go by. If he shows up for a one-off, great...but it'd be smarter for them to build their shows so that "something for everyone" becomes a bit of a mantra, and no single guy or entity makes or breaks the show.

I think if you're in their position, you of course call him. Worst he's going to say is "no", but the potential windfall is big enough you ought to at least try, even if I've cooled on him considerably.
