I'm in the camp of not really buying what this fan is peddling, but at the same time there's no reason why a situation like this shouldn't be handled by security, the talent should not be involved, and you can't create that type of liability for the promotion by giving the guy a talking-to backstage, no matter how pure or impure your motives might be. Nobody buys 100% of what he is saying. Just more so the bottom line is if he caused that much a ruckus it should have been handled by security and security alone. The way this comes across is Bully had a bone to pick whether his intentions be pure or not

The main core of them not having security go to the guy and tell him to knock it off alone means that regardless of what this dude did, ROH is not looking good here. Bully Ray getting thin skinned about someone even being a total shitbag from the crowd to his girlfriend represents a direction and an intention that says only really bad things for ROH.

If this fan had caused other fans (families with kids, for example) to complain and/or leave due to his level of vitriol, then maybe I could see it being appropriate to have a word in the back.
But I agree with Madison Carter...feels like there's a detail being left out. Usually the case with things that don't quite seem to make sense.
Either way, stuff like this is why I'm proud to be embarrassed to be a wrestling fan!

The way this comes across is Bully had a bone to pick whether his intentions be pure or not Yeah, I'm not getting Bully's involvement beyond "his girlfriend was one of the targets". I'd get him being upset or wanting to do something about that, but it's flat-out not his place to do it, if just because, again, that creates a whole heap of potential liabilities for the promotion. With the women, if there was spitting or what have you involved that's no good, but I do wonder how far the guy was going to get that kind of reaction; doesn't stop it from being unprofessional, but if the women don't have a history of reacting like this it's possible it's was something vile. Either way, this is just reminding me how much I'd rather be seeing ROH in the news for putting on good shows instead of what's been going down the past month or two. I liked some of the things they were doing recently like the NWA partnership and the Briscoes/GOD feud, but stories like this will overshadow a product.

In what world do people spit at each other? Other than the Flavor of Love house. (Shoutout to Pumkin) Also I just realized I referenced Flavor of Love and not the Keith Hernandez episode of Seinfeld. Which is totally off brand for me.

Right, which leads back to the point of security escorting his ass outta there and him getting a possible ban for a long while depending on what Mandy/Velvet say and what comes up in an investigation. This whole thing just comes across as the fan saying and doing stupid shit that most likely went overboard and the girls went back stage and since his girl was involved, Bully tried to do the "manly thing" If the fan was going way overboard, you kick him out and it should have been that simple. You're a fan and they are talent and if you step over that line than you got to go. And if he didn't step over that line, the wrestlers are in a lot of trouble assuming he did get spit on because Bully confirmed he met him backstage

I'm not picking any sides on this. Sounds like both were in the wrong for different reasons and a lot of this could have been avoided on both sides.
But in general...the company that I really loved & the company that saved my wrestling fandom in the mid-2000s is now the one company that I care the least about in 2019. That is something I thought I'd never say.

Yeah, I don't think either side comes out great here. Bully Ray and ROH's actions do seem a bit excessive for a trollish fan. But there's no way on earth I'd ever say something that nasty to any live performer, ever- regardless if they're playing a villain or not.

If the fan was acting horribly towards the talent, he should've been dealt with by venue security. It's not Bully Ray's job to handle that kind of thing, no matter how much he wants to impress his girl with his newfound clout.
At the same time, Mandy Leon should receive some kind of punishment for her actions, especially if she broke the golden rule and laid hands on the fan without him doing so first.

What the f*** has happened to ROH? It's so bad now, and once you get that stink of failure on you as a wrestling company it's very very difficult to get rid of it. When you're hot, you can do no wrong. When you're cold, you can do no right. In any case, having Bully handle it is asinine, as even if he was being cordial, and maybe he was, he's too close to the situation, and beyond that, he's not part of security. It isn't his job to handle it.

I mean punk was physically shoved more then once by the same guy when that happened. Punk just hit the wrong dude because the guy shoving punk hid behind him Personally even if he had hit the right guy I'd have fired him the second he got backstage. Nah.

That sounds ridiculous.
I’m not even gonna blame the fan on this one. (Provided he didn’t leave any big details out)
He bantered with the heels, got called a virgin and retaliated with a sweet burn. A good heel would have sold the insult and came back with one better, not cry to their boyfriend about it.
Bully Ray should know this considering the shit he used to come out with back in the day.
Absolutely bizarre story.
EDIT: Okay... maybe I have spoke too soon. He MAY have gone way too far with the heckling/abuse. I still don’t agree with intimidating him backstage.
