IMO, Nickelodeon has been lagging behind Cartoon Network and Disney Channel in terms of quality content this whole decade. CN has/had Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, and Gumball. DC has/had Star vs, Gravity Falls, and the new Ducktales. What has Nick had to offer besides The Loud House? Fanboy and Chum Chum, Sanjay and Craig, Breadwinners, and the corpse of Spongebob.
And the few good shows they DID have (Legend of Korra, Harvey Beaks and Welcome to the Wayne) were screwed over because they didn't do Spongebob-level ratings.
The future doesn't look too good either. While CN and DC have upcoming shows that look promising like Mao Mao, Infinity Train, and Owl House, Nickelodeon is making Spongebob and Loud House spinoffs.
So, I have to ask: What went wrong with Nickelodeon?

Reliance on old money makers and not bringing anything new to the table either. Spongebob is somehow still going on they quietly killed Fairly Oddparents after trying 1000 different ways to keep the show going
Nick is a old hat that hasn't evolved and trying something new. CN has gotten back to their formula with these 15 min shows that have a ton of heart along the way. Even with shows like Craig of the creek it is a diff taste and just a fun kids show.
They need to go back to the drawing board. Find some creative minds that will help bring something different. CN isn't perfect with the way they've treated shows like Steven Universe, Adventure Time and Regular Show considering at their end how inconsistent they were with them but they had a dedicated audience who stuck with it.
Power Rangers Beast Morphers is not a bad show but Nick does nothing with it and sticks it in a corner. I heard the new TMNT wasn't that bad but you don't hear shit about it. CN shows a lot of commercials of when their cartoons will be airing but I honestly have no idea what shows Nick features and what days they are on
You can almost trace back Nick downfall to how they handled Rugrats

Nickelodeon ruined Rugrats by focusing on it too much and making spinoffs nobody wanted like All Grown Up and Pre-School Daze. And it looks like they're gonna repeat their mistake with Kamp Koral, the upcoming Spongebob prequel.

We got old and they focused on an demo that doesn't extend to us. Nick always had tween bullshit that would annoy any one older the 12. I mean is Hey dude any good beyond nostalgia? Nah.
Honestly maybe they have a quality problem that hurts them beyond my scope. IDK because in the end most kids shows aren't for me no matter my appreciation of the craft.

And the TV movie revivals of Invader Zim and Rocko are now going to wind up on Netflix after the poor ratings for Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie

Can adults really judge how good kids' shows are? If kids like it and watch, that's what's important- not if a bunch of adults like the shows or not.

Obviously it's okay for adults to like kid stuff sometimes, but why do adults give a shit what's on Nickelodeon?

Yea, that's what I mean even with them not treating some of their most highly successful shows of all time that great at the end of their runs, it still is a lot better than Nick. CN allows their shows to go through patches and figure themselves out. Meanwhile at Nick, they expect every show to be the Last Airbender. A show like the Bravest Warriors is something they should have picked up. It has a little more adult humor but so did classic Spongebob but it has that feeling they are missing.

Nick spent a lot of time on top, that it got set in it's ways. They were so innovative for it's time. Now it's just another channel.

Nothing wrong with discussion Adults being able to like kids stuff is exactly what I said. And I'm okay with people discussing it. I am joining the discussion by asking why a bunch of adults are so concerned with something not even aimed at them as part of said discussion.

I'm kind of of two minds in regards to how they treated Korra. On one hand they did it absolutely no favors by constantly moving its timeslot around and trying to chase an Emmy. On the other the show really wasn't doing fantastically even in the first season and was probably much more expensive to produce than most of their shows, and I can't exactly blame them for cutting the budget when they made the decision to switch it to being online since it really just wasn't bringing in enough money to justify the continued investment.
And season 2 really seemed to do a lot to kill casual investment in the show anyway. There was still a following for it, certainly, but after how bad season 2 was it really did seem to come down to just the diehards really talking about the show anymore. ... Not that I can cast stones there, I hated season 2 myself to the point I completely gave up on the show and didn't bother to watch past that until years later. Show did get better (though I feel like season 4, while not bad, started getting worse again) but season 2 is pretty damn rough and it's not really like season 1 was flawless to begin with.

Also while CN and DC has embraced the internet and used it to their adventage and realize streaming is as important if not more than TV ratings, Nickeloden has not, their website is a mess.

I cannot even begin to guess how much time my youngest spent on the CN website, though much of that time he spent playing the Ed, Edd, and Eddy demolition derby game.

When you grow up, you almost always stop finding the current batch of children's shows to be watchable because they're made for kids and not for adult sensibilities.

I remember in the latter parts of the last decade (Actually, it was exactly in 2009) to the early parts of this decade, I watched a lot of the Schneider-produced stuff like iCarly, Victorious, and even repeats of Drake & Josh and Zoey 101. In hindsight, I am not really too sure why I watched those shows a lot even at the ages of 23 and 24, and I even stuck around with iCarly until it ended. I also must add that I even got into Big Time Rush at some point, even though that was from an entirely different production company, as was True Jackson VP. Speaking of which, I remember that Nickelodeon didn't really treat True Jackson VP that well because they didn't advertise any new episodes until the nights they aired.
I know I am an adult, but I enjoyed Big Time Rush for its style, which was similar to Ned's Declassified, but that was also because they had the same producer. When Sam & Cat came on, I started to grow out of it, especially because I saw that it really wasn't that great.
