I'm really freaking excited for this. Marc Bernardin wrote for this, and I really loved his stuff on Castle Rock.

So it continues the original animated series while ignoring the New Adventures of He-Man?

So it continues the original animated series while ignoring the New Adventures of He-Man? I think Mattel's official word on that is "New Adventures" is an alternate future now.

Kevin unveils Bear McCreary's score for Adam's transformation into He-Man {Spoiler} Sounds more evocative of the 2002 series then the 80's series, but I have no problem with that at all.

I LOVED the 2002 transformation music and would love it in the clear. Then again, the Filmation one using the theme music is iconic.

New comments from Kevin, saying there hasn't been much of a radical redesign for the characters, and, until the cataclysm, it starts off pretty much how the old show ended .....how did the old show end? I didn't realize it actually had a final episode, just (as was the case all over animation in the '80s & '90s) an.....episode that came out last.

Unless you count the opening of New Adventures of He-Man (either the comic book or the animated version), MOTU never had an ending. The story considered the closest to an ending of some sorts is "The Problem With Power" where Adam almost gives up being He-Man and he gets a nice ride into the sunset with Teela at the end, but even that isn't all that conclusive.

There was no final episode but I want to point out that they made She-Ra immediately after He-Man ended production. So whatever appearances He-Man made on She-Ra were the sequel so to speak. Which begs the question because I don't actually know the answer: Did She-Ra have an actual "ending"? (The original not the new Netflix one)

If they did they were rare.

If they did they were rare. Intentionally done that way so that the TV syndicates could just air whatever whenever (except for the occasional 2-parters/multi part arcs) in any order because there is no one single narrative flow. With the narrative flow of animation these days, you can't really air anything out of order - meaning if you miss more than 1 episode, you'll likely lose, or never grab, the casual audience.

What was G.I Joe's ending? I know G.I Joe Extreme had a conclusion, and the G.I Joe movie is an ending for the Sunbow era, but what ended the DIC era? And Transformers G1 still ended on a cliffhanger despite resolving most of the Autobot and Decepticon conflict.

Transformers G1 ended with Cybertron returning to a Golden Age, and the Decepticons fleeing through space in defeat. That's pretty final. With G.I. Joe I was referring to the Sunbow version. The movie was basically the end of the story (and yes I know they had an outline for a third season with Tomax and Xamot running The Coil but the series still had a sense of closure. The DIC stuff was a sequel series, and no it didn't have a proper ending.

The pilot ended with only Megatron having been shown to have survived. Season one ended with the Decepticons and Devastator soundly defeated. The movie ended with “let this mark the end of the Cybertronian wars”. Season 3 ended with “There will be no war, today. You have earned Galvatron’s respect” And season 4? Oh, wow. The cons are exiled to space and Cybertron is restored thanks to the human friend the Autobots made upon awakening on earth 20+ years prior.

Then again, the Filmation one using the theme music is iconic. I am a bit disappointed. This is a follow up to the original version of He-Man so was expecting epic orchestral synth like Filmation. If it was a follow up to the 2002 version, then it would be absolutely fine. I also miss the echoing boom in Adam/He-Man's voice when invoking the Power of Grayskull. Whatever Smith shared didn't sound as epic in terms of voice acting. I hope he edits it.
