The Muppets are Disney charecters eh, not quite. they're characters owned by Disney, not Disney created characters. when someone says "Disney", most people don't think of Deadpool and the Punisher because they now own Marvel. furthermore, when MCC was made, Jim Henson Production was still an independent company

Metroid: Zero Mission is phenomenal and an excellent remake of the original Metroid, which hasn't aged all that well. Heard some really good things about the Metroid 2 remake on 3DS, too.
And while more ports with extra features and refined controls than true remakes, I consider Final Fantasy V Advance and Chrono Trigger DS to be the definitive versions of both games.

The new Pet Sematary was better than the original. The original was painfully slow. Also, I preferred how the new version handled the relationship between the mom and her sister, the way it was in the old version really pissed me off.

In that same vein, It: Chapter 1 was much better than the It tv movie. I much preferred the 3:10 to Yuma remake to the original. Casino Royalle 2006 was better than the original.

The 3DS remake is excellent, but IMO the fan-made A2MR is even better than that. Similarly, Streets of Rage Remake is considered by practically everybody who's played it to be the definitive Streets of Rage game.

Shame Nintendo C&D'd it into the ether, though since they were working on Metroid 2 3DS at the time, I can understand their reasoning. I was lucky enough to snag it before it got got, at least.

Really it's still very easy to find mirrors of anyway. It does really amuse me that the developer of it said that Ridley was considered but left out due to thinking it'd be too radical of a departure... then he's the final boss of the official remake.

Yeah, I can't fault Nintendo on that one. Though it is a shame, AM2R will always remain an unpolished diamond.

The remake of IT blows the original so far out of the water, it lands on another planet.

How has no one mentioned The Maltese Falcon? I do like the 1931 original, but let's be real here. It's not the Bogart version.
Oh and what is this 1955 Miracle on 34th Street? I saw a Fox TV episode deal of it, but not a feature film. I can't imagine it remotely being as good as the 1947 film.
As far as Scarface goes I am never going to say the overlong Pacino movie is as good as the original, but then the original was one of the first old classics I ever saw that got me hooked on that sort of thing (along with Dracula). And Island of Dr. Moreau being better than Island of Lost Souls? That's insane.

I imagine not a lot people have seen the original Maltese Falcon, maybe some people are not aware it even existed I agree with you on Scarface, for me the 1983 version just drags and feels all 3 hours of it's running time and I prefer the original

The Man Who Knew Too Much. The original is a fantastic film in its own right, but Hitchcock topped himself with the remake.

Wrong. So so very wrong. Nothing beats the NES and SNES final fantasy games. I meant the newer versions of FF1 are better than the original FF1. Like, way better. Considering they actually fixed all of the issues of the NES version

Would "Dredd" be considered a remake of the 90s Stallone "Judge Dredd"? If it is, then definitely that. I wouldn't they aren't really remakes... it's just another movie based on the same source material.

The newer versions of Final Fantasy are better than the original by far. Wrong. So so very wrong. Nothing beats the NES and SNES final fantasy games. FF4-6 I'll agree with you. FF1-3 on the NES... not so much. There's a reason why FF2 especially is usually considered the worst Final Fantasy game ever made and even the remakes have made it playable at best.

Resident Evil 2, the original has aged dreadfully.

Ah, but Casino Royale '67 had the better soundtrack.

The Italian Job The original film is overrated. Nothing really happens until the last twenty minutes, which are admittedly a great twenty minutes but there’s so much to go through to get there. The 2003 film is far more entertaining.
