Triple H literally being given the World Title by Bischoff. Like “here you go game”... um, boo? He was the #1 contender for the title before Lesnar exclusively took the WWE title to SD. It at least made some sense If making sense is the standard, this is a really low bar to cross. It also ignores every single other ‘sense making’ scenario they could have gone with instead. For example here’s what I posted in the thread specifically about this: Yeah, this was garbage. I'm pretty sure there's a correlation between this and the quick drop in average RAW ratings that immediately followed. The smart game (pun intended) would have been to have a tournament where the winner (probably RVD) wrestled Trips for the belt at Unforgiven. That way RVD can lose, but still look like a champ, while Trips still gets the easy road to the belt. How hard is that to come up with? The direction they went made RVD look like a goof. But to be fair the M.O. of RAW around this time was ‘Triple H is god, above all else’ so maybe it wouldn’t have made a difference. But in a bubble, it’s a hell of a more creative and exciting way to crown a new champion than what they did. That’s not really debatable.

Jeff Hardy winning the IC title because Umaga kicked out too late On that note, Men on a Mission accidentally winning the tag team titles because Mabel was too fat and pinned PCO on accident.

Bret pinning Yoko after Yoko fell down. I get what they were going for, and it made sense, but it really did lack a punctuation point, so to speak. Maybe have Bret scramble and hit that second rope elbow drop of his. Hell, Sgt. Slaughter dropped an elbow on Warrior, even if the work was done by Savage. The damage is still him falling, but this is at least Bret doing something, and a piledriver or sharpshooter weren't very practical, even if the latter was still maybe technically possible.

Ronnie Garvin killed the NWA championship in an instant. No one bought him as a champ.

Sheamus cashing in MITB on Reigns. Yeah I get people hated Roman but who the f*** wanted to see Sheamus as WWE Champion again? That reign killed his main event spot dead.

HHH was involved in 2 instances in the span of a month. First the deal with Foley/Austin at SS 99 . It was REALLY obvious the second Foley was inserted into the match that HHH was going to pin him at Summerslam. But instead of doing *that*, they gave Foley win only to have him drop it the next night in an outcome that was so obvious that Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder both saw it coming a mile away. It was pointless, and it hurt HHH because beating Austin would have meant more. Then he drops it to Vince like, 2 weeks late because.....reasons.... only to win it back in a 6 pack challenge due in large part because special ref Austin knocked someone silly with a chair at the end. In regards to the first one, leaving politics out of it, its very well possible the reason Foley won the championship at Summerslam was 1)To swerve the internet who all predicted Hunter would win and 2)To have the crowd go home happy, which would make sense given the state they were in. It wouldn't be good business to have the governor of that state to raise the hand of the newly crowned heel champ. As far as the second one goes, having Vince beat Triple H actually got a monster pop. Yeah the booking was a little nonsenscial(having Vince come out on TV a month and a half after a stipulation stated he cannot appear again), but it was realistically done by having Austin attack him since they were feuding at the time, so having him costing The Game the belt helped fuel the fire. Plus, Vince wasn't going to defend the championship, so he forefeited it days later on RAW. So yeah, while Triple H's first two reigns were off to a rough start, they at least served a storyline purpose. As far as bad title wins go, Randy Orton winning the World Heavyweight title(this was during his legend killer/self-serving prick phase) only to be ganged up upon by Evolution the next night, resulting in a face turn no one wanted to see. I mean, for the entire year he was beating and disrespecting the stars of yesteryear(Harley Race, Sgt. Slaughter, Mick Foley) only for us to feel sympathy for him RIGHT AFTER HE WON THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!?!? Its no wonder his face turn flopped and was back to his heelish ways six months later.

Ziggler being awarded the World title solely so he could immediately lose it.
Same thing happening with Orton.

Ryback winning the Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber 2015.
Poor guy wins his first title in WWE, and its a match that is a total trainwreck and it's Corpus Christi so the crowd barely pops.

Hulk Hogan beating Randy Savage the night after Savage had won it at Spring Stampede 98. Bret interfered on Hogan's behalf turning Bret heel. So they screwed up two of my all-time favorites to put the belt back on Hogan who I can't stand. I had already been over WCW and the endless NWO storyline for months prior to this and this was the straw that broke the camel's back. I never watched Nitro again after this episode unless it was for brief moments to point and laugh ay how comically bad the product was.

Abyss winning the title by a DQ in a match where the ref didn't give a f*** about him getting strung upside down and beaten with a chair just minutes earlier but now couldn't bare to watch him go through a thumbtack table thingy. Abyss won the title by DQ in a no DQ match except it was no DQ to the extent of the referee's moral values. It's even worse because Sting had just won the belt after literal months of build and they were already setting up a thing between him and Christian since before Sting even returned. Giving Abyss the belt totally messed up those plans because now they had to make Sting and Christian supporting characters in an Abyss story arc that made no sense. Doesn't stop there either, because this whole angle was built on tension between Abyss and Mitchell that Sting had like completely pulled out of his ass like he was Abyss' abusive ex boyfriend or some shit. It Was Bad BRO! You don't know good writing, bro!

Sheamus cashing in MITB on Reigns. Yeah I get people hated Roman but who the f*** wanted to see Sheamus as WWE Champion again? That reign killed his main event spot dead. That was bad, but I would argue that this one....... .....was worse. Well, it certainly was for Sheamus, though Daniel Bryan probably would have gotten just as over without it eventually.
In cheap-shotting Bryan, Sheamus looked like an absolute bellend, even more so when he wore the 18 SECONDS shirt the following weeks. It also denied fans of a close contest between the two, and started a trend of The Celtic Warrior to look like a total wanker in his feuds (Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Mark Henry, Damien Sandow).
It also robbed fans of a chance to see these two at 'mania after their match the previous year became a battle royale.

David Arquette winning the WCW Championship........in a tag match ...….. when he pinned non-champion Eric Bischoff....... and DDP celebrating with Arquette after losing the title. I never knew the details of how Arquette ended up with the belt. This is priceless. 😂😂😂😂😂 Was this Russo's doing or was this during the brief Russo / Bischoff collab or was this Bischoff on his own?

Morishima winning the ROH title in 07, never got into him to be honest. I mentioned this in another thread a couple weeks ago and got no backup LOL. I thought I was the only one that felt this way about Morishima.

It was pretty awful, but it wasn't the worst title win off Christian. That has to go to Jeff Jarrett winning it at Slammiversary 2006 when Earl Hebner pushed over a ladder that Christian and Sting were climbing, and Slap Nuts got another NWA World Title run in TNA. This is 100% the worst TNA World title change ever. Have I said f*** Jeff Jarrett today? If not I must fill my daily quota.
