Pythor was only in the MMPR toyline, but never appeared on the show. {Spoiler}Before anyone says "Zyu2", if they had footage and/or a suit, it would have been used. This is Saban, the cheapest television production company in the world, we're talking about...

Can we count 1) commercials and 2) claymation/stop motion/puppets? Because The Pillsbury Dough Girl, Poppie Fresh, was never in any ads, was she?

I don't know about later EPs but I feel this applies to roughly 85-90% of the characters in the TMNT line Yeah most of the figures probably weren't made but he was the first one I thought of. Mainly cause me and my brother got walkabout and Dirtbag the same day... and Dirtbag was used once. I remember an Ace Duck figure, who was just a character on a TV show within the cartoon. Also, was Pizza Man even a character? I highly doubt it.

I don't think Pizzaface appeared until the later series. Even then, that character was just a mutated creature made of pizza. I don't think that the version that was depicted as a psychotic chef ever appeared in the old TV series.

The A-Team toy line had a red helicopter with THE A-TEAM written on the side of it, and they also had like a tank with a trailer as well. and Mr T was wearing a green overall in his figure, This pissed me off so much as a kid.

The A-Team copter having their name in big letters kinda defeats the purpose of them trying to not attract unwanted attention from the government.

Regarding my beloved GI Joe..... The entire 1988 line, which fell between the Sunbow and DIC series. Although several of those folks would appear in Sunbow produced commercials for the Marvel comics. Most of the 1987 line didn't either, except for the folks introduced in the movie - Falcon, Jinx, Tunnel Rat, Law & Order, Mercer, Red Dog, Taurus and Chuckles. So no Battle Force 2000, sorry kids. DIC didn't use everyone from 1990 and 1991, but they used a great majority of them. And the 1993 and 1994 lines were totally unrepresented, as well as a few from 1992 - with the exception of the Night Creeper Leader, who I think may've been introduced on the DIC cartoon; he got a figure in 1993, well after he was used on the show and with a completely different design from the show. Before that, almost everyone was in the show. Only notable exceptions were William The Refrigerator Perry and I think Keel-Haul. There were a few exceptions. The 1987 Battle Armored Cobra Commander was in the Dic series along with the Iron Grenadiers (as a background character) and the 1988 incarnation of Destro. Those were the most current CC and Destro of the time; and they sadly skipped my favorite CC design (the blue/gold/red one) from 1991 and went right on to the Sonic Fighter version (same year, classic hooded look in blue/yellow) in the 2nd season. I think they used Destro later in the show with his 1992 update (brighter but same colors update of his classic figure). Honestly didn't remember the Iron Grenadiers in the DIC show, though I recall they used a bunch of his other soldiers at times.

I heard a rumor that they didnt use Ace Duck aside from that one shot since he resembled Launchpad too much and they didnt want to get sued by Disney.

Would the Grenadiers have been in the 1989 Dragonfire miniseries, as they were still then-current (the faction debuting a year prior, along with gold mask Destro; then a few more characters in 1989)? Also, found this chart showing screen time for various GI Joe characters throughout the 80s & 90s cartoon, as well as the two CGI features they did in the 2000s during the revival: www.halfbattle.com/screentime.html

Talking to others about Joe lately has started to bend my resolve in giving that stuff another viewing (twice in my lifetime is enough, yes?!) but that website is fantastic. According to it, the IG's only ever appeared in Spy Troops The Movie (there was a 2000's version of them, gray instead of black outfits). TARGATs and Annihilators, Destro troopers that were part of the 89 line, show up in Dragonfire for a smidge.

I just recall seeing them during a battle. Maybe I'm remembering things wrong.

We may've been hit with the same Mandela Effect laser beam because the idea of IG's being in there isn't odd at all; I kinda recalled it too (Destro was around a bunch during Dragonfire so I figured it woulda been there).

I love that the appearances are broken down, especially for the most minor of folks. Also love how they basically detail where every part of a certain figure came from (if they reused a head sculpt, they list the original). Wonderful stuff.

Also Me: *watches the Turtles fight another random mob boss* Thats one thing people forget about toy-based shows, a lot of the kids already had the figures, but wanted to see them in action (of course, sometimes that led to disapointment, see Wingnut and Screwloose from the TMNT line being villains on the cartoon).

How about the opposite...characters on shows that DIDN'T get a figure?
Looking back at Robert Axelrod, I am recalling that Rita Repulsa never got a figure in the original MMPR line, did she?
Jenny on Bucky O'Hare (rectified just now).

How about the opposite...characters on shows that DIDN'T get a figure? Quite a few of the G1 Transformers didn't get toys until long after the show ended, with most being released this century. Off the top of my head I can think of Elita-One, Arcee, Chromia, Unicron, the Allicons, the Quintessons, Orion Pax, and Alpha Trion.

How about the opposite...characters on shows that DIDN'T get a figure? Sticking with the A-Team for - there was no Colonel Lynch OR Decker, no Frankie the special FX guy, no Amy or Tia.
