Wait... So, all Cornette said was "Sammy Davis Jr was Jewish?" Am I missing some context? Because that doesn't sound anti-Semitic. Did he make the original statement (which I have not seen and is not posted above) that the female host was defending? EDIT: It should be noted that I am in no way, shape or form defending Cornette. I am just strictly looking for more context for the above quoted incident. It's a gray area straw argument. Judaism is a religion. The Jewish people are an ethnicity. Sammy (and many, many others in history) have converted to the faith, but that doesn't make them Jewish in terms of ethnicity. Cornette and his buddy are trying to muddy that distinction. Ah. I personally see that more as ignorance on their part than anti-Semitism, but that's just me. Either way, Cornette and his host at that time were wrong.

(Mark Henry puts out a statement) But how many black people is Mark Henry, exactly? SmackDown vs. RAW 2011 Mark Henry: Hey, man. I see there's a discussion about race relations once more and I have to say... why not take the approach like those black and white cookies I get when I'm at a New York pizzeria where they all get along like I saw in that Seinfeld episode. Doctor said I should stop eating junk food cause I'm on what is called the "pre-diabetes", but how you can have pre-diabetes? Either you got the diabetes or you don't. I miss eating my McChickens in the back ever since I cost Big Show that match.

Race is also a social construct. Like in Europe, Jews were seen as much a race as they were a religious group. Thus antisemitism in Europe tended to be as much racism as it was religious persecution, and it was entirely racist in Nazi Germany.

Maybe my bad for not being more explicit in this, but Cornette's then-co-host outright said "Judaism is not a race," which as other posts in this thread have pointed out due to historical implications, is an anti-Semitic thing to say. In particular, it's a dogwhistle talking point for those who try to downplay the holocaust or anti-Semetic hate crimes throughout the world. Additionally, there's not a whole lot of room for doubt in this scenario and these are two people who have a major media outlet and a history in broadcasting so they should definitely know better, and the then-co-host fairly soon after leaving after Cornette's comments on Muslims and the Middle East shows some capacity for that thought in terms of knowing and willingly recognizing dehumanizing language.

Corny denies he's racist, says we (the fans) are racist for thinking he is racist, he then has Brian Last be his morality shield (again), sad just sad. Unlike his usual stuff, this "defense" vid isn't even slightly funny. - Ah yes the old. "pointing out my racist statements makes you the real racist." defense. All you motherf***ers are gonna pay! You are the ones who are the ball-lickers racists! We're gonna f*** your mothers while you watch and cry like little, whiny bitches. Once we get to Hollywood Jacksonville, Florida and find those Miramax cosplay wrestler f***s who is making the movie legitimate complaint, we're gonna make them eat our shit, then shit out our shit, and then eat their shit that's made up of our shit that we made them eat. Then all you motherf***s are next. Love, Jay and Silent Bob Jim Cornette and Not-Conrad.

I just don't know that if it is or is not intentional antisemitism in that case. I hope that made sense.

You're good, my friend. As I stated above, while I admit that ignorance on the subject leads to antisemitism, I just don't know if this case was intentional antisemitism or not. Again, as I said above, I hope that makes sense.

So, I am not supposed to ask, but you are supposed to answer Also, I only need to know about Mark Henry. That's all I'm supposed to know This is the brand of reaction that I have the huge problem with. We refuse to engage to you because you've made it clear you don't approach this with any intention besides shit stirring. If all you do is focus your argument on "how can I piss off everyone by taking the side that is clearly wrong, and not even in a logical dissection 'Devil's Advocate' approach, but deliberately take the side like I genuinely agree with the bigot", don't expect people to treat you as anything but a cretin. Mind reading? I'm happy to restrict the discussion to what I'm thinking, since it is a topic I undoubtedly will know infinitely more about than you will. However, just to be fair, I think it would be better if we stuck with the words on the page.

Anytime I can't think this thread can't get any stranger. Anyway, Cornette is a man child, and he also, can be charming, intelligent. It's much easier for all bigots to just be just 100% awful people, but it doesn't work like that. Doesn't mean that we need straw arguments or disingenuous positions to defend the guy. It'd be a much less complicated industry if every shithead was a Buck Zumhofe. Not that level of offense, obviously, good lord no, but being both a shithead AND deeply unlikable. It's frustrating because Cornette can tell these amazing stories about Big Cat Ernie Ladd, ones that show how witty and unforgettable a character he was, extol what a professional Jay Lethal is, go in depth with just how over JYD was, and then use a slur like it's nothing. And Alice, who I'm a fan of and posts fascinating things about silent film on social media, had one of the most dramatic meltdowns that I've ever heard that she actually recorded without the others on the network knowing at the time. She had health problems at the time but it was quite intense.

Race is also a social construct. Yeah. For instance my great grandmother's British Visa that she used to come to America listed her race as "Irish"

His former co-host was actually pretty good. She had a great broadcasting voice. I think he mocked her afterwards for being mentally ill, though I might be mistaken. My guess is that she simply didn't want to defend his shit like his current crony is willing to do.
