Haven’t given any of Jim’s shit a listen since this whole debacle but I welcome him to continue yelling and screaming at the heavens to his hearts utter content. Happy 60 pages everyone That's why I provide a brief summary so people aren't forced to listen to his recent garbage. He also runs down Joshi wrestlers and disabled wrestlers in this clip while his voice increases in volume. Brian Last chimes in every so often to agree. I didn't listen to Corny but feel like I already know what he said about omega (KENNY OLIVER, JOKE TO THE BUSINESS, RUINING A PROMOTION,COSPLAY WRESTLER,IN BED WITH MELTZER)

I've been a fan of Jim and his crazy rants for a while now, and usually am entertained by his hyperbole.
But lately it feels like the dude is becoming more and more of a trainwreck, and the audio of him throwing around the N word is the last straw for me.

My respect for Kenny Omega just went up another notch.
Regarding Cornette's recent comments regarding Meltzer, it's been a slow turn unlike his turn against Brian Zane.
Also in respect to TM and mine avoidance of actually listening to Jim, please note I didn't listen to them. I'm going by the board's recap.

Corny attacks Meltzer again. He states Meltzer is "depressed", "dishonest", "inclusive" (as if this a bad thing) and "has lost respect for the business" rather than accept recent criticism for his bad behavior. Oh, and he goes off on Omega again. I listened to this clip for six minutes and I tapped out. Anyone have a synopsis for the rest?

Poeple don't want to hear that Cornette's gimmick is more about bigot grandstanding and serving a specific audience, but when you call someone inclusive as a blanket negative, you're suddenly on the same level of people who put out Youtube videos with the title "SJW TAKEOVER OF VIDEO GAMES" with a screencap of that stock 'angry feminist' woman yelling. The one they all use. Cornette's showing his stripes with all this bullshit and there's really no way for him to weasel out of the truth of what he's doing. Speaking of Corny's problem with inclusivity in the latest clip he negatively compares several wrestlers (including a disabled one) who were in the Double or Nothing Battle Royal to "carnival show freaks" (and this isn't the first time). Now, think about that for a minute. Being a "carnival show freak" was often the only work many people born with physical and/or mental impartments could get at the time. Few of these poor souls wanted to be gawked at but they had few, if any, other options. Not trying to stand up for the exploitation of the 'freak-show' thing, but I always heard that the people who were starring in these shows, with, like physical disabilities were always pretty well paid? Well, well paid for the time period, because people would pay to see them.

Sami Calliahn your thoughts? It's fun, it's silly and it's meant to just make wrestling fans enjoy themselves. So of course Cornette and his cronies and his cult are gonna hate it for some ridiculous reason??

I haven’t listened to Cornette’s thing on Meltzer since it would tiresome, but Meltzer’s recent statement after this went down was good and measured. He calmly said Cornette is just a sad figure now who is unlistenable because he’s off the rails. And that Cornette should be smart enough to know that wrestling always looks different in the span of 30 years: a fan of wrestling in the 30s would not have gotten the wrestling of the 60s etc.

Well, well paid for the time period, because people would pay to see them. There was a great doc about circuses and freak-shows about twenty years ago. The one woman (Half-Woman, I think) basically said that if people were gonna stare at her anyways, she might as well get paid for it. She wasn’t necessarily happy about the situation but was happy with the long term result, if that makes sense.

Sami Calliahn your thoughts? His one failing is that jacket should be bright red or powder blue or something.

I'd love every kid to dig Guns and Roses, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, System of a Down, Tupac, etc. Yet I totally get that they may not like it, find it boring, or terrible. If some kids dig it, cool check out more of this band or that band. If not, there's still plenty of great music out there today. My students love Blackpink and Billie Eilish. They're not Smashing Pumpkins, but you know what? Those new bands are straight fire. I can respect music has changed in 20 or 30 years.

I don't know much about Brian Last. Does he have any credibility in the industry? If so, I can't help but think that his recent stint as Corny's sockpuppet/morality shield can't be doing him any favors. Last was a friend of Dennis Carllozo. And was on the fringes of the NJ indies for years. Basically Last was a superfan that had enough money to start hitting shows and conventions in his teens. Then back in 2005 him and Bob Barnett were on Bix's first podcast, the podcast Bix doesn't like talking about,Last enjoyed it so much he wanted to do a podcast. Skip ahead to what 3 years ago and Bix and Last start the 605 super podcast. Which was for a bit a great show. But morphed into Last and his crew doing stupid impressions and now Last hasn't bothered putting out an episode of the 605 in 2 months. Thru going to the cons and shows Last got to know Cornette. So when Alice quit Last jumped in and is using Corny's fame to make money off the podcast. Last's ego is huge. On the first Bix podcast he said "Since there is some many huge egos in wrestling I want to be called THE GREAT BRIAN LAST!"

I had no clear idea who the guy was. I honestly thought he might have been backstage talent based upon a few things he has said. Boy oh, boy does he indeed have a huge ego. To hear him tell it you'd conclude he worked for JCP alongside Corny but joined up a few years later.

Yea Last is just a fan that happened to be in the right place right time to get ot know a bunch of people. IIRC he is in his mid to late 30s. A buddy met him a few times at Dennis shows and said that even as a teen Last's ego was huge.

One of my favorite quotes was one I ran into in San Francisco: “We didn’t inherit the earth, we’re borrowing it from our children”. I’m not that young and I’m not that old, but it’s always been a stark reminder to me to allow change, and be fluid with it. Jim’s just an extreme end of that spectrum which again, is just sad.

Okay, y'know, I'm kinda glad Bix's name came up, because that's someone who has shown an adult can actually grow the hell up. While he never did anything on the level of Cornette that I'm aware of, he was part of an online group that was incredibly toxic. I was surprised as hell when I saw his name start popping up in my peripherals again a few years back, almost couldn't believe it was the same guy. It CAN be done.
