Has Cornette spoken at all about the leaked audio of him repeatedly using the N word? Or is he hoping if he ignores that it will go away? Because i've got to be honest, when you're trying to argue you aren't a racist, audio of you being incredibly racist sort of hurts your defence. But he doesn't think of that word as racist, you racist! While growing up in the South he called black people the N Word every day, it was all in good fun. Sorry, I couldn't resist anticipating Corny's probable "defense" given his recent comments. You forgot AEW fans are trying to screw me.

Yeh I dont see how Joey Ryan ,Sammi,Kenny ,Bucks.are the dirty worst. Janela is kinda of a tool sometimes on twitter but overall comes off as a much better guy than Cornette. That cosplay doesnt even come close to the worst insults and mocking Cornette does. The cosplay isn't the issue. It's that these people are throwing stones in glass houses. A lot in that group have done or have been accused of some horrendous shit themselves. Just some things that come to mind: - Joey Ryan's awful "Easter Basket" tweet. - Sami Callihan has been accused of domestic violence by an ex-wife. - Omega employed a pedophile and then made an ass of himself on Twitter. And I don't say any of this to excuse Cornette's horrible joke, I say it to show that 3 of those listed aren't stainless themselves. A few of them (DEFINITELY Sami and Janella) use Cornette to help get themselves over and it's just annoying. I think anyone with a brain would see that the best way to deal with Cornette is to ignore his existence and go about your business. Dressing up as him, bringing out tennis rackets during matches, etc. are sure fire ways to get him to bitch about you on his podcast and that's exactly what they want. They may hate Cornette, but guys like Sami and Janella almost have a weird symbiotic relationship with him at this point. tl;dr - Cornette's "joke" was shit, but a lot of these people are equally shit and should shut up and work on bettering themselves instead of trying to get a mention from Cornette. Lol Janela didnt need Cornette he was over before that gasbag started talking smack to him

If he apologized about it, and still did the thing which caused him to apologize, which had caused him being fired, then that's not much of an apology at all.

I haven’t listened to Cornette’s thing on Meltzer since it would tiresome, but Meltzer’s recent statement after this went down was good and measured. He calmly said Cornette is just a sad figure now who is unlistenable because he’s off the rails. And that Cornette should be smart enough to know that wrestling always looks different in the span of 30 years: a fan of wrestling in the 30s would not have gotten the wrestling of the 60s etc. Example: Karl Gotch shitted on Harley Race. Called him a clown!

I'm not defending him, certainly on his N word rant but he apologised for that. Many times over the years and I do believe him. This joke was bad but it's strange, in the UK it wouldn't be offensive, in the US it obviously is. Cornette is a strange character. If you listen to him regularly, like I do, you can tell he's very Liberal. He's not homophobic, racist or anything else but he is stuck in the past. Much like his wrestling opinions, which some of I do agree, he's 40 years behind too.

You can be a liberal racist homophobe.
Just because you are progressive someways does not take back his racist comments.
There is gay white supremacists and black and asian white nationalist allies
Shit is wild

An excellent Youtube video that explains in a calm, logical fashion why Corny's recent behavior is different than that of other pro wrestling personalities. The reasons outlined in this video are also why I can't forgive Corny easily. It is a pattern of bad, unrepentant behavior on his part which keeps me from giving him any benefit of the doubt. The history of systematic racism in Pro Wrestling is touched upon extensively. -

Not speaking of anyone on this site, but I've seen many people on the hellscape known as twitter.com who want Cornette dead (not literally, but you get it) for this, but still subscribe to the WWE Network. I've even seen some of those same people live tweet the Saudi shows. My thing is, so many people want to "Fight the good fight" but pick and choose what they consider okay or what gets a free pass.

We live in a very polarized society right now. Cornette's statement was ignorant and his continued shifting of blame to AEW fans is stupid, but there's no need to rise to the level of wishing harm on a person. Even though that's what Cornette wishes on some of favorite targets. We're better than that.

Or, it's a lot more complex of an issue that shouldn't be relegated to polarized whataboutism.

You really have your last whataboutism argument get pushed out of the thread, then regroup and come back with a different whataboutism hoping this one clicks a little harder? Man come on.

Oh, and if anyone wants to hear the audio in which Corny repeatedly uses the N word it is included in all its gritty glory at the end of the vid I posted in my last post. The Youtube user who made the vid tacked it to to the last two minutes of his vlog for some reason. Be advised that the casual way in which Corny throws around the N word is pretty vile.
