Edit: I didn't notice the record but yeah, this one just slightly edges out the previous one.

I'd say it probably didn't exactly help that there wasn't really any potential for a post-PPV bump because nothing of consequence actually happened at TLC and the only belts defended (between either of the shows, at that) were the tag ones which are pretty much the most useless belts in the company.

I said this last year when it happened. A lot of us did, and got poo-pooed over it. But when you promise change and don't change, people stop trusting you, and they stop believing you. Their promises meant so little that the trend of losing about half a million viewers per year kept all the way down to the hourlies. They bandied out change and lied to everyone again, hoped it'd buy them time, and now they're back to this shit again. Half a million people who wanted to trust WWE and believe in them gave up, virtually nothing of any substance is any different now, and the numbers keep sliding. Next time they do that stunt, how many of those half a million are going to even give it a chance again? We see it in the relative numbers on their big nostalgia milestone gimmick episodes, see it in the year on year ratings, see it in the quarterly reports where attendance and merch are down. People are walking away from WWE, and because the old man at the top is a bitter old prick who won't quit, nothing is going to change.
