I would really like it if a channel we also get in the UK picked it up.

It's wild to remember a time when The Fight Network was the one place I could go to hear Mauro Ranallo talking about how much Victory Road 09 sucked I hope he was exactly as enthusiastic as he is about his commentary. "And then AJ jobbed to Kevin Nash, MAMMA MIA!"

Time will tell on if the other wrestling shows on Axs go as well, but if they don't then that'll be pretty telling. TNA has wanted to get back into bed with New Japan who have been pretty clearly against it, so this all looks pretty suspect from the start.

They stopped giving a f*** about New Japan quite a while ago.

Meltzer confirming AXS dropped them, they didn't leave. Any more details than that? New Japan lost a lot of advertising in 2019, certainly since The Elite left and Bullet Club was watered down. AXS are happy with how Impact's doing, Japanese wrestling is a very hard sell to people. Also they're now a competing promotion in the same market, AXS are going to back Impact all the way, the writing was on the wall when Anthem/AXS fired the guy who got New Japan on there (and turned Impact's pitch down).

Those aren’t really sources or anything as much as your own assumptions on the matter. Beforehand, the NJPW shows were doing by all accounts really well on the network ratings wise and a lot of airtime was given to New Japan so for them to suddenly be dropped is what’s driving suspicion for people. ESPECIALLY since rumors were around of Impact wanting to rebuild the NJPW connection.

Sure, they dropped them from the network, that's pretty clear to me they don't care about them anymore. Wow that's not even an assumption that's just dismissing a motivation for the outcome by citing the outcome itself. That's logic so circular it's a mobius strip.

Well, that sucks, regardless of the actual reasoning.

Extreme dick move to end a year early. Just let the contract run out then, FFS. I'm seeing Impact stans on Twitter crowing about this. It's pretty sickening, really. Less competition = stagnation.

If New Japan doesn't find a new outlet and soon, WreslteKingdom is definitely gonna have a lot of illegal streams...

Meltzer said that on WOR a couple of days ago regarding advertising. Anthem really don't care about New Japan, AXS does not revolve around pro wrestling. They have other programming to think about. Anybody who thinks Anthems priority with AXS is solely about pro wrestling, or Anthem bought it for Impact would be a moron. Pro Wrestling is far from Anthems priority when it comes to AXS.

What the hell is on AXS besides wrestling and late 70s rock concerts and documentaries.

It may be if some people don't have great internet connections. Others just might be cheapskates, but that's their hangup, not mine.
