I just don't get the Sin Cara mentions. What exactly makes anyone think Vince would have seen anything other than "random flippy dippy Mexican" in him? What people don't get sometimes is that guys like Rey and Eddie were U.S. born Hispanic stars that made a name for themselves in lucha libre. They had one foot in two cultures, and as such could veer in and out of both and also could cut an English promo. Mistico was a pure lucha wrestler, didn't speak English, so why would he get over in American wrestling?

They had been trying to get him to sign for years. Mistico was the biggest name in lucha and they gave him a big money contract. They expected a lot from him. It's why they kept the Sin Cara gimmick going long after he was fired.

I'd say Sin Cara as well, first name i thought of
Other mentions for me are sadly Nakamura who I thought would steal the show at Mania but was and has been a slight disappointment since (shame as I have enjoyed him) and maybe the Baron Corbin in every segment mistake. I'm still not sure what heat he was on the end of and eeesh it was not pretty. Maybe not a bust as such though as I'm unsure they'd invested in him

Mistico was a pure lucha wrestler, didn't speak English, so why would he get over in American wrestling? When they signed him. He was the biggest draw in Mexico. WWE gave him a big money contract and had him leap frog Development, That alone doesn't happen very often. Plus having a big press conference when signing him which again you don't see much of that hype with they sign someone. Hell he had more press and hype going in than AJ Styles did. AJ coming off a ME run in NJPW. Yes AJ is not a lucha wrestler but the big time signing side still a thing. WWE expected him to BE the next Rey or Eddie for the latio market. Yes he was a Pure Lucha wrestler and they had hope he learn to work the way Rey and Eddie did. Yes Rey and Eddie where born here but in Spanish speaking areas which clearly English was not Rey or Eddie first language. Yes they did know how to work multi styles. Mistico ws expected to be that next major draw for the Latino market.

Pretty much. Dude took years off CM Punk's career and was so reckless with Daniel Bryan a week before Summerslam that Cena basically came out and buried him for being a careless oaf. There's a reason the "CARELESSNESS" thing became a meme.

Del Rio or Sheamus. They tried and tried and tried. Two guys who werent main eventers they tried to make into time and again and it failed time and again Del Rio I'll give you....but how in the hell is Sheamus a bust in any way? Ignoring all the other shit he's done, at the VERY least, he's a 5 time tag champion as part of one of the best teams the company has had in YEARS, putting on more great matches than not for 3 years. Hell, getting the Best of 7 series out of him is enough to make him not a bust.

As fellow fin, Ludvig Borga (Tony Halme) could have had a lot more to give WWF Universe. I freakin' love his local boxing promos. he died 8 days in to 2010, he didn't have chance to be one of the big busts of the decade They also missed out on giving him a lariat as a finisher and calling it the Finnish Line. Instant boom period.

His terrible injury luck didn't help. I'm sad his run was underwhelming but I'm thrilled to have him in NJPW.

I think it is right to say that Sin Cara’s run was hampered by the fact that WWE sucks with non-English speaking talent. Lucha or otherwise. That isn’t even debatable at this point.
Even English speaking luchadors and doras have a rough history.
Sin Cara though, unlike Andrade and Del Rio, or even Fake Sin Cara/Hunico, is a bust because even with that factor he chose to make his life even more difficult in the E, to the point where I have no idea why he didn’t go to NJPW.
Okay, I do. Money. But still.
He’s still not a bust like Reigns.
