Did Sonya want to do the storyline with Mandy, but Sonya's girlfriend said no? Or was that just newz? They wanted to do the storyline and even Sonya's reaction to this looks like anger. She's not against it. I think that gf stuff was just newz.

Throwing away the storyline..... I thought Liv looked amazing. Surely they could find something better for her to do..... but alas.

Then again, given how WWE portrays LGBTQ+ people, maybe it was for the best.

As a big fan of Sonya.... I hope she steers clear of this.

I have no idea about reality, but in my memory Total Divas had a scene where she had an argument with the hot chick who said something like: "You would be so jelly and acted like a maniac if I DID DO THAT...", when talking about the possible Mandy n' Sonya love story.

I like the Mandy/Otis romance angle, but it really did look like they were going in that direction with Mandy and Sonya before they pussied out for whatever reason. From accounts that was Mandy and Sonya's adlibbing... and not the WWE making a storyline.

See the problem with that do you really trust the writing team/Vince to do right with an actual lesbian? He's right. That whole "HEY THEY'RE GAY OMG THEY'RE LESBIANS WHO SLEEP WITH EACH OTHER" thing is so outdated. They do more than that and the fact that's the first thing they go to just doesn't make any sense. It's like New Day said on their podcast. They made sure they as a group weren't one of the 3 black wrestler stereotypes: the big strong black guy (E's original gimmick), the foreign black guy (Kofi's original gimmick) and the dancing black guy (Xavier's original gimmick). They're making these women fall in line with a bad stereotype. Also this I wanna say thanks to Effy for pretty much nailing one of the things I was thinking about this. I'm a bi woman married to a woman. While we do actually have a relationship where we could see other people with everyone involved's full knowledge and consent, the implication that I and everyone else like me is a sex crazed whore who cheats on their partner with random men and women is something I would have happily left in this decade.

Or there is the implication that Lana can't be marrying Lashley out of liking him because she dated Liv Which is even worse because that erases Bisexuality.

It makes you wonder about Lana's character because as far as we've seen she has no good traits. Her character is someone who cheats on Rusev with The Rock, Ziggler, Lashley and now Liv, she can't wrestle, she's causing numerous problems by lying, she's a bad manager, like they're really making her seem like the worst woman today. This storyline is different because the only bi woman we have in the company is apparently the worst one possible. That's a bad representation because it gives a bad idea to viewers. Its like if the only black person always danced.

Good points and all, ...but could it be possible that pretty much all of 'em in WWE are freakin' terrible persons and that's why they settle their differences on a freakin' moving circus. (?) I don't know, I've never understood why there's needs to be whole roulette of different people in a *one* tv show. There's not always (pretty much never in my dull life) a 50-50 balance of nice and terrible person (or with different mindsets) in one place in real life either.

I'm hoping Scarlet gets involved in this in some sort of love triangle.

This happened? Paul Heyman needs to be kept 500 feet from any arena, office, or booking meeting where wrestling is being discussed

I think everyone is over analyzing this thing when it's probably a bizarre gag done for this wedding segment and may never be mentioned again. Liv Morgan may well go the way of Emmalina. It's not like Lana even really confirmed any of this stuff so it may well be the usual "Single White Female" bit that WWE has tried at various points. I don't recall anyone pondering the deep representation or meaning behind the whole Dawn Marie/Al Wilson/Torrie Wilson angle, which was actually far trashier than this.
That said, I did a bit of over analyzing as well. Lana's vows made her seem like the most egotistical, self absorbed woman on earth. If anything, Liv's whole "You're the love of my life, you made me feel at home in WWE!" thing didn't even jibe with what we're seeing and made Lana actually a far more nuanced character and a more sympathetic one. What was supposed to humiliate her really made her seem more humane.

Bischoff's prophecy of HLA has finally come true and its only taken more than 17 years to happen. Things that were embarrassingly regressive 17 years ago are hip and popular now! ...that's how that works, right?

It has to be because of Rusev, but I am absolutely loving this. It was X-Pac heat at first, but these last few weeks have been incredible.
And hey, since we're just adding new players, can we please get Aiden English back with Rusev?

I mean, this is the kind of thing many fans seem to want to take away from wrestling... Why? Why do we have to be ashamed of goofy shit like this? Who are we trying to impress? This is one of the only things that wrestling has over real sports, that they can do bullshit like this with a straight face. I love good athletic wrestling matches as much as anyone, but sometimes I just feel like a stupid car-crash wedding to laugh at for 10 minutes. Goofy stuff always happens in wrestling. But I want my announcers and interviewers to still treat it professional. They can have fun, but.... Ah I'm turning into an old man declaring everything was better in the past. And I didn't even watch it nor were you arguing against that. I'm done.
