I feel this thread would qualify... officialfan.proboards.com/thread/612750/happened-years-ago-2015-lemme?page=1&scrollTo=16090898The scary thing is, it wasn't that long ago, and everybody in that segment(except for Roman Reigns) is no longer with the company, and one is no longer with us(RIP Luke Harper). Another one I would bring up is Roman Reigns' never-ending face push(let's say June 2014 to August 2020) was just about as long as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's uninterrupted WWF/E career(January 1996 to June 2002). If you just want to include Austin's time on top(early 1998 to late 2001/early 2002ish), then it eclipses it by two years, which is how long it took The Texas Rattlesnake to go from his debut to winning his first World championship! This year, there's already been more Wrestlemanias under the WWE banner than the WWF one!

Did Austin ever feel old to anyone as a wrestler?
So many guys are in their forties now.
Austin retired at 39. Never wrestled into his forties. Crazy how young he was.

Guys just seemed older back in those days, the reputation for prominent wrestlers in their 40s was something far more openly mocked. If Edge and Christian had a match against each other now, it'd been largely seen as one between two older but able veterans, as they're both 47. The ages of Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper in their infamous "Age in the Cage" bout at the 1997 Halloween Havoc? 44 & 43 respectively.

I'm assuming that there won't be a spot where Christian eats Edge's ass on the plus side

Hogan and Piper moved like two old guys too. I guess today’s guys take better care of themselves, but they also probably don’t have the mileage that those 70s and 80s guys have. Hogan during his 80s heyday had to be working 250 days a year with frequent weekend double shots. That many leg drops have to catch up to you.

With Hogan it also has to be mentioned that the guy could move quicker and crisper when he had to (see some of his Japan matches), but his entire American style was based around not doing that. There would be the initial shine, him getting beaten down for most of the match, and then the comeback; even then he wasn't going that fast. His heel work wasn't that much different to boot.

We are now further away from Andre the Giant's last WWF match than Andre's last WWF match was away from Gorgeous George's last match.

Edge's first WWF title win at New Years Revolution 2006(January 8th, 2006) is now closer to him being in attendance at Wrestlemania VI(April 1st, 1990).

We are as far away from Hogans first wwf title run as Hogans first title run was from World War II That won't be for another 4 or 5 months if you're counting the end of World War 2 with the Japanese surrendering on September 2nd, 1945. Hogan won his first championship on January 23rd, 1984, which would make it 38 years, 4 months, and 21 days.

Another one: We are further away from Benoit and Eddie’s title wins that their title wins were from Hogan slamming Andre

Randy Orton is the only full time wrestler who's been around with the company before the name change to WWE(he debuted on April 25th, merely two weeks before the name change), almost 20 years ago!

Greg Valentine hasn’t cracked a smile since “Honky, Honky, Honky Love” failed to crack the Top 100 Country Music singles in 1990.

Japan and Russia, at least on paper, have never officially ended the war against each other.

Piper was what he was at that point. He had the hip replacement pretty young when you think about it, which slowed him down a lot. Crazy to think he was early 40s but moved slower because the hip. Over the years it just got worst because the other health issues he deal with. Like when he returned in 03, he was out of shape because he was in a car accident not long ago before that and injured his back.
