Honestly all this thread convinced me is that absolutely nothing of significance happened in WWE from like 04 to now. Also ROH and CZW have existed for way longer than both WCW and ECW I told the mods this but I saw a mini document on CZW and their very first show was held at my elementary school about five minutes away from my parents' house. I would have been just wrapping up high school at the time.

Mick Foley was only 34 years old when Triple H (30 at the time) "retired" him at No Way Out in 2000. I was 16.
This thread is depressing. Haha.

Maybe not always for the better, but I find the product unrecognizable from back then to now. Batista, Orton, Edge, and Cena regardless how you feel. Did become big stars. Taker and HBK had two of the best WM matches in history. There are things that happened but just so much changed.

Another bit of ratings information that shows the passage of time and waning popularity.
Raw's highest rated segment ever was on June 28th, 1999, when Steve Austin wrestled the Undertaker, garnering 10,720,000 viewers.
21 years later, Raw's third hour hit the lowest number of viewers ever for that show, garnering 1,560,000 viewers on May 4th, 2020.

Amazing how what is now considered a high rating and what it was then. Speaking of ratings talk. in 2020 so far the Wedensday "war" that really not a war when it comes to ratings. AEW had for the most part dominated NXT: NXT has yet to reach 800,000 viewers AEW Has reacted 900,000+ viewers 6 times.

I'm roughly the same age as Monday Night Raw(Raw debuted January 11th, I was born October 30th).
CM Punks wrestling Career lasted about as long as The naruto manga ran for(1999-2014).

More time has passed from the first Wrestlemania(March 31st, 1985) to John Cena's debut(June 25th, 2002) to now.
Speaking of the first Wrestlemania, six future WWE champions were born after that date: Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Jinder Mahal(!!), and Drew Mcintyre.
In about 4 months, more time will pass since "Macho Man" Randy Savage has passed, than his WWF run(June 1985 to October 1994).
Unfortunate one, but more time has passed since the Benoit murder-suicide than it did to this foreshadowing promo:

Was watching TV with my dad. An ad for Raw came on. He wasn’t a fan but said “That’s not the Undertaker!” I said “Yes it is. It’s been that long since you ever saw him. It’s been at least 10 years”.
That was 2000.

Honestly, seeing Kurt Angle on NXT reminded me of this thread. Seeing him announced as "WWE Hall of Famer" and taking a backseat to the main story of the match made me think about how it doesn't feel that long ago that I was watching Kurt feud with Steve Austin over the WWF title. But it was actually almost 20 years ago. Damn lol.

This one should be horrifying for the WWE when it comes to passages of time. According to many in the IWC, the November 19th, 2001 episode of RAW did long-term damage to the WWF/E both creatively and in fan interest and they still never recovered from that. More time has passed since then than their previous boom periods as both the start of the Golden Era(1984 to early 90s) and the Attitude Era(1998 to 2001).
You can argue that the creative downturn started around the Invasion Era, or a year earlier with the Stephanie McMahon/HHH/Kurt Angle Love Triangle coupled with "Who Ran Over Austin?" storyline, but lets just be nice here and mark that RAW as the date that things started going south for the company.
