I’ve been working from home for 2 weeks. It’s mostly fine. But, I have a history of alcohol issues. It’s what I go to when I’m bored and I can feel that fog descending. My girlfriend works for the nhs, so it’s definitely not fair to burden her with this. After over a year of dropping the habit, apart from socially, losing 4 stone, running 10ks. muscle building etc, I feel myself slipping. I’m not a violent, or cruel drunk. Just a stupid and self-hating one.
This isn’t a call for attention, I know everything I need to do. But I need to say/type it out loud.
Thanks for reading. We’ll be ok,

That number showing how far behind testing others are is nutty. South Korea is testing 6000+ per million a day Where as the US only 314 per million Most places who have not experienced a bad outbreak having a very laid-back attitude on moving around and STILL a severe lack of testing is a really bad recipe. We've heard for 10 days how tons of tests are going to be available, and still we're lagging behind. More words than actions here.

Just found that a woman that I know is currently in the hospital for Covid-19. This is now starting to get personal to me.

Well... We have two presumptive cases at my facility. And one of my co-workers has to get tested. Not a good day at all.

Yea, sounds like a mix up here because they damn sure need those mask and they aren't turning away any help they can get According to them they said the department wants to talk to Stephon. Best believe if Governor Cuomo got word of this he's saying we need those like yesterday Marbury is a walking legend in China so if he can get them and send them, let him do it. Only hold up I can see is money but supposedly Marbury is able to get them for $2.75 a piece which is less then what they going for. If anything make the fed try to cough up more dough for this

If anything make the fed try to cough up more dough for this California is trying to get a bunch from South Korea, as well as turning to wealthy tech companies in their state to be benefactors. This is where the federal government is necessary, as we now have states and cities competing with each other to get supplies. This ends up with poorer cities and states not being able to compete with the wealthier, more resource heavy places.

And then even then the states are basically running on only a limited budget and as you said have to turn to wealthy benefactors for support It is an arms race for supplies and on top of that, they are paying a premium for supplies. Ventilators are being made by GM and you have people crafting mask but it still isn't enough

I probably said this before, but I actually had to call a police department to check in on a friend due to how all this is going down. Not to frighten them; but since she's having to take care of her daughter's twins due to her being a nurse and her late son's son (who committed suicide about two years ago), as well as her husband, whose health is failing, and I hadn't heard from her in a few weeks, I was worried about her own health. She's in her 60s, and in Florida.

So California received 170 ventilators...all broken.
They immediately sent them to be fixed and will be ready tomorrow. Unreal.

We’ll be ok, Sorry in advance as this may not be good advice, but it could help to try and write down anything you don't like about drinking, like say, negative experiences that you have had. It could maybe help in putting the temptation you may have with drinking in perspective.

This basically reverse engineers CPAP machines and it sounds like they're adapted to help fight the worst respiratory effects of the COVID-19 infection. If anyone's familiar with CPAP's, they're way smaller and less involved than ventilators. This could be a game-changer until vaccines and more effective antivirals are developed.

Now it's starting to hit home for me. My great aunt has been confirmed positive for COVID-19 and is currently in the ICU as we speak.
