Cabela’s allowed my 67 year old father who has previously had serious medical issues to work his full schedule last week.
It’s his life, but guns and camping gear are not essential services.

Jus talked to the gals at my go to Starbucks. According to them, the company is paying you if you choose to work or not, and those that do are getting an additional $3 an hour. Pretty admirable for a soulless greedy capitalist blah blah blah company. I don't know all that much about them, but I've usually seen Starbucks pay for employees education and stuff. I'm sure they do bullshit stuff too, but for the most part, Starbucks does positive things.

Tony Schiavone said he worked there part time because they offered a very good healthcare program and other benefits, which is almost unheard of in the US for part time employees.

I work for Sprint, they are making us just work two/three days on alternating weeks. The days we work are being paid as time and a half. If you are off 4 days, two of those are paid at regular pay, if you are off 5 days, three of those are paid at regular pay. They are also taking are last 6 months of commission pay and averaging out are commission check for this month.
In our store are manager is basically working as a bouncer, only allowing one customer per rep. Making other customers wait in their car until it's their turn. We are also maintaining six feet between customers. Some customers are still being dicks and complaining about wait time, but having work customer service the last six years doesn't surprise me how people can be.

I'd like to jeer my workplace. I work at a manufacturing plant, I won't name them. We have been still running because we're considered essential.
This past monday I worked a night shift and they allowed someone to work who was visibly sick. Halfway through our shift that person left to go to the hospital and was tested for the virus. They had us continue our shift then in the morning when management came in they shut us down and called us all asking us to quarantine until the test results come back.
They also announced they'll be scaling back production, but have not told us if we will still be working or what will happen to us. It's a large company and when you're hired you sign a contract where you agree to show up and perform your job safely. Also in that contract they guarantee you 40 hours of work per week. As of right now I'm quarantined because of their negligence and sitting home wondering what will happen as far as work and pay goes.

The store I work for, Primark, have been amazing through this. We all got informed, by both text and email, that we were closing temporarily last Sunday, the 22nd, and within minutes all the floor managers set up WhatsApp groups for their respective floor to keep us all informed as and when updates are given
We’ve be guaranteed two weeks pay, which covers to next weekend, ensuring everyone gets a full month’s pay with any overtime they were due to do this and next week and a reviewing things on a weekly basis about when and if we can return and how we will be paid as well as setting up an email account for us to contact if we have any queries or issues

My company has actually been really good. Stores shut for one week as of today, all staff on full pay until at least May 1st where another review will be taken. Staff are also allowed to take on second jobs if they feel concerned about the future, so can potentially get two paychecks. Management has also personally rang each front-line staff member to see how they're holding up.

Just read this on my local newspaper feed: "Texas Roadhouse CEO Kent Taylor is giving up his salary and bonus for the year to pay the steakhouse chain's front-line employees during the virus pandemic."

not sure if this counts but HOTELS.com changed their ads to their mascot sitting in silence with the tag line "JUST STAY HOME"
which is good that they aren't trying to still advertise going out.

Got an e-mail from LA Fitness to let members know that if they don’t cancel their memberships, they won’t be charged until a club in their respective area reopens. Thought that was a nice olive branch.

I gave them more of a benefit of the doubt than many people did. I respected their religious belifes and how they used those to run their company. This is just inexcusable and they come across more like mega church preachers than your good christian business owners. SHame on them, thats gross

Back to some company cheers, Lego previously closed their stores and are paying their staff. Now they're donating $50 million to children's charities helping families affected by corona virus.
On a personal note, the company I work for, which is considered essential as we make products used in cleaning products, has instituted a few measures to try and be as safe as possible. All office people are being asked to work from home if possible. All in person meetings have been cancelled for the next couple months. Anybody trying to come into the plant (employees, vendors, visitors) must get their temperature taken. If you're an employee and have a temperate or any other symptoms, you're being asked to go home and quarantine yourself, and if the company asks you to do this, the employee is getting paid for their shift.

Sadly there is a certain segment of society praising them for thus and acting like the owner is a hero. There is a Louisiana based message board where this is getting almost universal praise. Also criticizing the government for arresting the pastor who is bussing people in from around the state and holding service for 1,000+(and putting tons of people at risk) Pisses me off and also reminds me why LA is dead last in education and why I’ll leave the first chance I get. Really sickening.
