Why are they keeping Now at all? It's the same price as Max except you only get the HBO shows and limited movies. With Max, you get all of that, plus other WarnerMedia-owned content.

Bob Greenblatt, who was hired last year to run HBO Max, has been given the boot.

I'm not surprised the person hired to be in charge was let go... AT&T really screwed the pooch with this launch... having 3 apps named HBO x... and not having Max on the majority of streaming services... and from at least some of what I saw... not really being enough stuff to justify it's existence on launch... they are lucky they launched the same year as Quibi and Peacock so they won't be branded as the biggest failed launch of a major streaming project this year... but it was not a good start...

I still have no idea where I can log-in to watch HBO shows if I'm an HBO subscriber on cable. Legit no clue.

I don't know; I feel like I tried 15 different things and couldn't get anything to work, so I just gave up. I wouldn't care a whole bunch, at least not at the moment, but I'd really like to watch the doc on the Golden State Killer.

That's like if Star Wars, Pixar and Avengers left Disney Plus to go exclusive to Tubi

It is...but also many of these deals have been signed years in advance and probably cost an arm and a leg to pay off so they have to keep them. A lot of Marvel movies are going back to Netflix in the next decade, for example. Now, should they have launched when they have without that stuff? Whose to say but that’s something that’s going to be happening A LOT until it doesn’t.

They don’t know how the landscape of media consumption changes. They make deals that at the time they were made made the most sense to them. That’s all it is. Like Marvel didn’t know superhero movies were gonna take off like they did when they sold the Spider-Man film rights to Sony. They were in a financially bad place and needed money so they were like, “Yeah, sure, knock your socks off, buddy.”

Has anyone else watched the documentary Class Action Park? As I am from NJ, its oc particular interest to me of course. Got the book written by the son of AP's founder

AT&T still flailing wildly to recoup costs because of their absolutely terrible choices on launch. I don't see how Ads are going to help them attract new users... especially as they continue to ignore the majority of the streaming audience.
