HBO Go was the service where you had to have HBO on your cable/satellite plan to access it. HBO Now is direct to consumer. There is no content that's exclusive to HBO Now. HBO Max has 100% of Now's content, plus way more and for the exact same price that Now costs. Again its probably because HBO has to be a going concern and maybe some contracts still have HBO Now as something that still needs to be up to keep them valid. I don't understand what you mean. Everything that is offered on HBO Now is also offered on HBO Max. Also, as far as I know, HBO Now only still exists on the web. I don't believe it's offered as an app anymore because the HBO Max app replaced it.

Yes but HBO the cable channel and HBO max are two separate things technically even if HBO Max has everything HBO has. So they might have to maintain an HBO streaming service because its baked into HBO (cable channel) produced shows and movies they license through HBO. Like go on HBO Max and the Elvis movie is listed under HBO. Why? IDK but there has to be a reason.

Still going forward with Velma with a woman of color in the lead role. Genuinely surprised here.

Content with the "HBO" label = Available on both HBO Now and HBO Max Content without the "HBO" label = Available on HBO Max, not available on HBO Now

There is a reason. If there is a HBO label on a show or movie, that content is available on every HBO on demand platform (cable on demand, HBO Now, HBO Max). If there is no "HBO" label, that content is just on HBO Max and missing from the other platforms. Last month, the movie The Eyes of Tammy Faye was removed from HBO Now and HBO On Demand but stayed on HBO Max. When that happened, the "HBO" label that used to be under on it on Max went away. Also, if I go to HBO Now today and enter my HBO Max e-mail and password, it works even though I never had HBO Now. Apparently, anyone who had HBO Now automatically got HBO Max and vice versa.

Cut content, hike prices. What could possibly go wrong?

I was rewatching the Defunctland on Eastern Airlines yesterday and it was reminding me a LOOOOOT of the shit WBD's doing right now.
Surprise, Eastern Airlines eventually went out of business.

This is just some copyright infringing indy film I think Yup. Or, rather, it was a copyright-infringing movie that they were actively trying to sell to distributors. Just looking at the trailer, they weren't even trying to hide it:

Looks like The People's Joker is a parody of all those "retold" movies you see on Youtube I read an article and apparently they were hoping to skate by as parody. But its really obvious they were just trying to tell their story using other peoples characters. Best case they get away with it, worst case now they get attention as the poor underdog trampled by the heartless corporation.

Just looking at the trailer, they weren't even trying to hide it: There's a "Nostalgia Critic, but make it queer" vibe here that I just can't shake. How the hell did this make the arthouse circuit? I refuse to believe it was just for representation points, not with how many genuinely great LGBT+ writers and directors there are.

In rare good news, apparently they will pick up the upcoming fourth series of BBC Ghosts (they already have the previous three there)
