Finishing up a rewatch of Sopranos. Going to cancel Max after that. Probably re subscribe for Peacemaker 2.
Until then going to do a month of Netflix for Cobra Kai and He Man. Then cancel and stick with Hulu and Disney. Plus Prime but thats free with membership.

While I liked this show’s first two seasons (season 3 became a humourless mess) .. no show deserves this.
There maybe a silver lining though.. they doing this to an excessive amount, removing content for a tax write off. That things are going to have to change legal wise. They can’t keep getting away with this, that it should immobilise the content makers to campaign for changes in the law.
Call it the Digital Art Preservation Act or something. If a large distrubter doesn't want the content anymore and in the highly unlikely case of them can’t finding anyone they can sell it off too, they must give it back to the creators.
Anyhoo this shit has to stop.

The entire idea that you can get a tax write-off for a product that has been finished and released is f***ing bullshit.

Apparently specifically they're going the tax writeoff route with Final Space, Dream Corp, JJ's Fairy Tales, Beef House, and Thundercats Roar while Infinity Train, OK KO, Mao Mao, and Close Enough are just being vaulted.
Sounds like a thing where they recognize some of the shows might have value or room for a potential revival selling them to other streaming service and they're just scrubbing the earth of the ones they don't see as having that value. Which is just evil.

Again, why would any creative work with WBD right now?
You’ll create something, have it released, and then have it vaporized for a tax write off. Meanwhile, you’ll struggle to get peanuts off the art you created.
WBD better be careful that they don’t end up with having no product to sell because nobody wants to bother with them.

Sure the big named already established creators and writers who have high priced lawyers and agents will probably have no issue working with them. It's the small time and up and comers who should be weary of signing off their creations with them.

"Copyright protects the creators" my ass. Also, until we do some serious copyright reform, this shit is going to keep happening.

I'm immediately reminded of Professor Thorgi's video on the bloodbath at DC a few years ago, except now "that one's tiny, get rid of it" has become the official policy for the entire corporation. Wild to think Warner Bros will be 100 in April of next year... if they make it that long. Asslav is really willing to throw away a century worth of legacy to make a quick buck.

Honestly Warner Bros. has a long and storied history of just burning shit to the ground for the fun of it. Like in the 50s when they sold their entire back catalog for pennies because they didn't understand the concept of TV.

That's why we need to keep circulating the tapes or in these cases digital files

Speaking of United Artists, Warner Bros may suffer the same fate as United Artists, being destoryed as a individual entity by a big box office bomb as the Flash movie may end up being Warner's Heaven's Gate

Yup. Or, rather, it was a copyright-infringing movie that they were actively trying to sell to distributors. Just looking at the trailer, they weren't even trying to hide it: There's a "Nostalgia Critic, but make it queer" vibe here that I just can't shake. How the hell did this make the arthouse circuit? I refuse to believe it was just for representation points, not with how many genuinely great LGBT+ writers and directors there are. Feel like this is a very harsh assessment, the people I know who did get a chance to see it say it is very good. It has people like Tim Heidecker and Bob Odenkirk involved.

Another case of Keep Circulating the tapes. Does this mean DVD sales (and consequently the price especially in Ebay) of Westworld are going to rise as a result?

In two years, they went from so desperate for content that they sunk another $70 million into a box office bomb to just casually dumping off award-winning programs. HBO Max really did turn out to be the runt of the streaming services, didn't it.
