Downloaded it to my PS4 (since of course I have a Firestick and Roku as my streaming devices, of course), and immediately notice that there's a Leaving Soon section.
Streaming really has failed us and it's promises of a wireless future.

Not surprised by this. I've repeated it over and over, but the lack of Roku or Firestick support just made this launch a giant wet fart. If I'm them, I'm fighting like hell in the next few days to try to at least get Roku support. Also, from what I've heard, I think a lot of people expected a lot more than what they actually delivered. The Studio Ghibli stuff is awesome, but outside of that and Friends, it's not a hell of a lot different than what HBO Now was/is.

What baffles me is why would you even entertain the idea of launching without support for those devices? They're far and away the most popular with streamers, especially Roku, which has something like 50 million users. Not everybody wants to watch their media on phones, tablets, and laptops, guys.

How would you rank the streaming platforms? My personal rankings based on the ones I have/watch the most: 1. Hulu 2. Prime Video 3. Disney+ 4. Shudder 5. Criterion Channel 6. Netflix 7. HBO Now I'll throw out an honorable mention to the Boomerang channel. For the price, it's not bad if you like old cartoons. Night Flight is also a good one for the price, but the service needs A LOT of work with their interface.

I choose Netflix among all other streaming sites, cause Netflix's recommendation categories can help me find new programmes and films that appeal to your tastes based on what you've already watched and it's easy to track what movies I've already watched

How would you rank the streaming platforms? Basing mine on how much I use them. 1.Hulu-Used this to replace cable/dish. 2.Netflix 3.Amazon Prime-I am shocked at all the crazy never have hit dvd/blu ray films I can find on here. Plus it is cheap. 4.Highspots Network 5.Full Moon Features 6.IWTV 7.Shudder-Pretty have this for Joe Bob's Last Drive In. And it is like 53 bucks if you pay a year at a time. Even with all this I am only dropping 50 a month.

I had it from launch from where I had HBONow.
So here's what's good:
-BBC Imports. Doctor Who, Luther, I don't have to play VPN paddy-cake to watch these shows now.
-The new Looney Tunes. It's so true to the spirit of the originals but without the unfortunate things that haven't aged well.
-Studio Ghibli. I'm not a big Anime guy, but the wife absolutely loves Studio Ghibli, so it's a win all the way around.
Here's what's bad:
-Curation sucks. I'm assuming this will become a thing in time, as pretty much all the major players in streaming have some kind of implementation of it, but a big player in the tech world like AT&T really should have had that ready right out of the gate.
-"Leaving Soon"... what? Do you own the libraries, or do you not? I'm sure it's a scenario where they do own the libraries, but they've already got preexisting deals in place to where they'll be going elsewhere for some time, but man, what piss-poor planning.
-The UI could stand to be streamlined better. It's functional, but when you're used to the fantastic Netflix UI, what they offered doesn't really compare.
-Unless it's an HBO series, it's a season behind. I assume this is to drive more eyeballs to the actual channel instead of the streaming service, but 15 a month isn't exactly pocket change in the streaming world.
-It's not as "all-encompassing" as it should be. A good example is the DC Comics content. Yes, Doom Patrol is there, and so are all of the DCEU movies, but where is Batman: The Animated Series? Arrowverse content? They've got Batwoman, but that's it. I understand a lot of that is available on the DC Universe streaming service, but you mean to tell me I have to get ANOTHER streaming service from the same company just to watch something?
On the whole, I give it a C+. Warner and Disney are neck and neck in terms of who owns the most valuable content libraries, but Disney did their best to dot their i's and cross their t's before launch of Disney +. HBOMax is like half-finished work that was released with an attitude of "Eh, we'll figure the rest out later". I'm sorry, but for 15$ a month, they really could have done better. Hell, I'd be willing to pay 2 or 3 bucks more a month if they actually gave me access to the entire Warner Media library.

To me, it looks like AT&T is slowly building HBO Max as a service, as opposed to Disney, who blew their load early with Disney+. The reason I think this is because HBO Max didn't have many originals at launch, but has a steady stream of original content coming soon. I also think AT&T will add more stuff from Cartoon Network, DC, etc as time goes on.

Well, I was able to get it for free as I'm already subscribed to HBO. Fortunately, I have a PS4 so I didn't have to worry about the lack of availability on Roku and Firestick.

I was going through the movie listing and forgot there's a whole genre of Al Pacino playing disgraced figures (Joe Paterno, Phil Spector, Jack Kevorkian) in HBO Original Movies.

I did the free trial and I can't understand why anyone would want this. 50 States of Fright was good, but when I want to watch it, I don't want to sit down and watch it on my phone.
