Scurll should've already been kicked to the curb. It's really pathetic that he's still employed. Pretty crazy Marty and Dream might squeeze through this nonsense. Or “The Drake Effect” as I like to call it.

Pretty sure they both have said some homophobic things in the past. And even if not, find it hard to believe that only one of them thinks that way. That would be like thinking that even though Don Harris had an SS tattoo, for all we know, his identical twin brother is a paragon of tolerance. a shit ton of wrestlers have said homophobic things in the past (including a current champion in WWE), but for the past seven years the contention has always gone back to Jay's tweet which is continually attributed to Mark as well despite the fact he had absolutely nothing to do with it and siblings can have extremely different views and should not be held responsible for the actions of others just because they happen to be related Jay keeps coming up because his is one of the most cut and dry examples, where we have it in pretty clear language how he felt, but he's absolutely not the only guy who gets singled out for bigotry, or even specifically homophobic comments. Scorpio Sky got reamed for it, too, and he recanted. Jay going, "lol it's my gimmick " didn't win him any points with people, but Brock and Ultimate Warrior (rightfully) get slammed for homophobia a lot, along with others.

Scurll should've already been kicked to the curb. It's really pathetic that he's still employed. Marty's case is more complicated than a lot of the others due to it not happening in the US, along with being prior to the ROH contract. I am anticipating some "agreed-upon exit" for Marty that involves him not being condemned in the same terms as some of the others were from their respective promotions, but still has him gone all the same with some sort of severance. Is that bullshit? I think so, yeah, but it makes the problem go away in a way that doesn't result in a potential legal battle, or leave threads some others in power there might not want tugged on un-tugged. Frankly speaking, some of the people in the company probably don't want to establish the precedent of enforcing an unwritten, previously non-existent morality clause when their particular chickens may come home to roost.

If Scurll survives this, I will not watch another ROH show so long as he's there.
NWA could also be questionable for me, as well.

Yeah, as much as it didn’t do much for him PR wise, there was a reason he mentioned the legality a lot. Well, a few but the main reason being that they have to negotiate for him to be released rather than fire him since he could easily counter with a lawsuit about his actions not being in the country of the original contract. Like Moz said, it’s bullshit and still gross but it saves Sinclair from potential legal action.

That's true, as Jake Crist has shown recently in disowning Dave. However, I'm pretty sure Mark Briscoe has had his moments as well. Jay's been more vocal, but I thought I remembered Mark grabbing a Pride flag from a fan and wiping his ass with it. Yeah he stole someone's pride flag in Manchester and used it to choke someone in a match, then started kicking it around. That was 2 years ago. I thought that was Jay who did that?

Seriously get rid of the Briscoe brothers while they’re at it. RoH are not getting a penny from me while the Briscoes still work there.

Like, if you're already being scrutinized, that is not a good look at all.

Holy shit. I missed the latest Scurll allegations.
Those are two of the most pathetic, self-serving non-apologies I've ever read. I'm mortified for the guy.
"Yeah I had a sexual encounter with a drunk 16 year old when I was 26, but it was legal and hey, wrestling needs to sort its act out"
No fella. You are the problem.

Like, if you're already being scrutinized, that is not a good look at all. I always gave him a slight benefit of the doubt in that situation given that they were going for heel heat, but there's no getting around that you should be smarter than that when people already scrutinize you closely for previous homophobic comments. Beyond that, said past comments mean that a lot of people are going to see you do that and get actually angry with you, not in a "let's have fun booing this guy" heel heat way, and you can't be shocked when the general feeling is "this guy who previously said something messed up about LGBT+ people just showed us his previous apology was BS", even if that's not what you meant. Obviously I don't know if that's what they were actually going for or what's in Jay or Mark's real beliefs in 2020 on this.

Scurll should've already been kicked to the curb. It's really pathetic that he's still employed. Pretty crazy Marty and Dream might squeeze through this nonsense. Or “The Drake Effect” as I like to call it. Dream's not worth it, I don't know why he hasn't been let go. HHH probably doesn't want to admit another one of his pet projects is a f***up. As for Marty I have to wonder if it's on the contract issue. Marty might be owed a lot of guaranteed money even if they terminate him. Because his contract, even with it being a year, was lucrative as f***, and that's why he took it. He was at the time, the hottest free agent with AEW also becoming a thing and a possible obvious landing spot, so ROH, sinking as they were, threw everything at Marty to stay, not only seven figures reportedly, but the head booking position, again, all for a year contract, that's how desperate they seemed to be. And with the pandemic, and now in a much worse situation, this, that could very well turn out to be a very harsh wound to ROH, again, especially if they have to give Marty a big payout upon termination. They might be stuck, and even if they keep him... they're probably gonna turn fans away, BECAUSE of what has come out. It's very lose-lose for them. With Dream, the only one who loses is HHH because one of his babies is a screwup, creep, failure, etc. And it's telling.

I think the only thing saving Marty at the moment is that he has the fall back that he can viably say it was a drunken mistake. It's not a good excuse, but it is an excuse nonetheless. A (seemingly) one off spur of the moment lapse in judgment is easier to forgive than the months of grooming and predatory behaviour that we've seen from others.

It's only tangentially related but no one brings up actor Rob Lowe sleeping with a teenager and he videotaped that shit.
Granted it's a different world than it was in the late 80s.

Most employees are at-will employees and can be fired for any reason or no reason at all (as long as it’s not discriminatory).
