This is the proper action taken by AEW. Sammy has apologized to Sasha. Sammy will lose money, and get training. And everyone knows these kinds of jokes are unacceptable.

I think AEW is taking the right course of action by suspending him as it sends a message to the rest of the locker room and hopefully gets Sammy to think.

I'm going to be really careful with how I word this.
Guevara said something that was stupid, heinous, disgusting, and just awful all around. He can't take that back.
What he can do, and already did, was reach out to Sasha Banks and apologize. Sasha doesn't explicitly say whether she accepted it or not, but it is clear Sammy made the overture. In addition to that, he's now suspended, losing money, and his livelihood is now in serious jeopardy. 50/50 on the liking of the twitter post, but let he who has never liked something on social media in error throw the first stone.
Short of flagellating himself for rest of time immemorial, I don't know what else the twitter dogpiling squad wants. It's not a Joey Ryan scenario, at least not yet. If evidence comes out that he's part of any of that, then he deserves far worse.
For now, all Sammy can do is make amends to Sasha (he has), take his lumps (AEW is seeing to that), and be a better person that's got to live with what he's said for the rest of his life.

This is a truly f***ing disgusting comment from Sammy, Sasha, Bayley and Jericho were having an amazingly trolly Twitter banter, Sasha is one of the best wreslters on social media at the moment, same with Bayley; but then Sammy made it awkward with the comparison to Ricochet. But, holy f***ing shit, this is a new level of vile; I don't even buy the 'he was young' excuse, I don't know what world people are raised in when they think that rape is a joke. I've always known that rape is wrong and it's shocking that people apparently think it's a joke at any point in their lives. Santana and Ortiz are the only Inner Circle members who seem to be good on Twitter apart from Jericho, which makes me want to see banter between Boss & Hug and Pride & Powerful. It’s more common than you might think. We’re not far removed from Abraham Washington joking about Kobe Bryant on live TV. On Family Guy, Quagmire is a walking rape joke. There was an episode of South Park where the boys get mixed up with NAMBLA. There was a culture of pushing the envelope in the 90’s and early 00’s that is just now experiencing pushback.

When are they going to come for Jake Hager? His transphobic comments and Jericho's praise of Nyla Rose contradict each other.

Good on AEW for taking action, and I'm glad Sammy apologized to Sasha like an adult. Hopefully this turns into a situation where people can learn from it. His "joke" was tasteless and vile, and hopefully he learned his lesson. Having said that, is now really the right time/situation for Matt Hardy to be kayfabing on twitter, and making his Inner Circle feud a part of this public statement?

This is weird to me. This is all kind of weird to me. I really, really, really hate discussing this kind of shit online cause I feel a lot of context goes unnoticed and what-not so..Yeah, I’m really not sure what to say. The comment Sammy made 4 years ago was gross. I thought his apology was fine. Thought Sasha was cool for responding. She didn’t have to. I think this suspension is more of a display and message. Don’t know if it’s really appropriate but eh. I guess sensitivity training ain’t bad. The donating salary is cool. *shrugs* We’re probably going to see a lot more of this throughout the industry now.

It's definitely a f***ed up comment to make, when taken seriously.
But I admit I've said similar stupid things when I was his age.
A suspension is good for their PR. Hopefully he doesn't suffer too much from it in the long run as he most likely (I hope) didn't mean it literally.

They are clearly using Sammy as a message to the rest of the roster saying if we will do this to someone we have featured heavily we will do it to anybody. Sammy shows true remorse and learns from this? It was worth it

Sammy said a terrible, stupid thing. He apologized publicly, privately and he's been suspended. He's going to sensitivity training and his job being saved is not a guarantee.
So far, he's done the right thing after doing the wrong thing. If he continues to show he's not the man who made that comment anymore, then I don't have an issue with his suspension eventually being lifted. He said something horrible, he didn't physically assault anyone.
Good on AEW for donating his salary to a women's shelter.

Oh there's still lots and lots of rape jokes in various media. It's seemingly okay to laugh at prison rape or woman-on-man sexual assault. Rape-as-comeuppance for the villain is especially popular. Anyway, I feel Sammy's punishment is a little harsh, but it's Tony's show so whatever.

Matt has been tone deaf on that kind of thing a lot in the past. He did something similar on the day of the Pulse night club shooting and got rightfully dragged through the mud for it. Seems to be something he's not learned from yet.

After all that's emerged this week, the fact that this of all things seems to be the thing that's giving people the strongest reaction is beyond madness to me.
2020 is weird.

I appreciate the hell out of the fact that Sasha, Sammy, and AEW management have all come out of this looking like adults handling things like adults.

For me, I feel like this was handled the right way, and everything was handled the best it could be. This was an isolated incident years before he was hired, it was stupid and absolutely intolerable, and for Sammy's sake he better hope this is the only time he was this much of an idiot
This Whole F'N Show Podcast should be ashamed of itself for trying to drag this out of people for clickbait edgy bullshit as well and creating such a terrible environment. I'm sure they don't give a shit which is exactly the problem, but yeah, that shit is disgusting to me as well.
As far as I've seen Guevara has grown as a person, he's never done this type of shit in his vlogs or online, this was just a huge mistake that I hope he learns from, for his sake.

I probably wouldn't have suspended him but I don't think its the wrong call and after this its probably good for him to be away from TV for a little bit. A month is probably the appropriate range for a suspension. For that whole month he really shouldn't be on social media at all unless its helping at women's shelter or something.
He said something really stupid and at this point there is no indication he has a habit of saying stuff like that or god forbid actually touching anyone. Based on that and the fact that he acted pretty swiftly to right this, I don't think he should lose his career over this

I am hoping he also workshops his character in this time. His horndog shtick was already on the edge of comfort at times, and will play very badly if he keeps it up.

Ultimately a severe punishment is good for him, his best years are ahead of him so when he resumes his career he will have less of an invisible asterisk added to discussions about him if public opinion is that he paid a sufficient (or even more than that) price for his actions.

I am hoping he also workshops his character in this time. His horndog shtick was already on the edge of comfort at times, and will play very badly if he keeps it up. Kinda feels like it already was being phased out for his dorky character that always seemed to be the fall guy of the group, which is a much better direction for him anyway. I didn't mind the "Hit me up" thing when it ended up being him being hit up by a damn golf cart lol. But I just hope he learns a lot from this. Again, I haven't seen anything else from Guevara that leads me to believe this is a pattern, just this Whole F'N Show podcast which apparently brings out the worst in people anyway.

For what it's worth on that note, I don't think Jenn Decker has ever had a problem when Sammy hits on her in-character (and this is a woman who has experienced sexual assault and harassment; her stories about both brought me to tears reading about them). But it'd probably be a good idea to phase that part out of it even without the crass "jokes" if only because of the events going on in wrestling as a whole with all the allegations coming to light.
