For the longest time I thought the highest rated segment in WWE History was "This is your Life" with the Rock and Foley. It like an 8.4 or something. I swear I remember this being said many times over on multiple websites and podcasts.
Turns out the real answer is a match between Stone Cold and the Undertaker on June 29th, 1999 (9.5 rating). I literally never knew this until I looked it up earlier today.

Here’s one that came to me recently. I don’t know why but I always remembered Jim Ross calling Kanes debut with the “That’s gotta be Kane!” But it was Vince. Don’t even think JR was on commentary that night.

I was always under the impression that, given how much outcry there had been over the years about it, that the blowoff match of the ill-fated DDP stalker angle of him versus Sara Calaway ended up in her beating him clean as a whistle. In fact, it was Undertaker beating the piss out of DDP on the outside, chokeslamming him on the concrete and rolling him back into the ring for his missus to get the easy pinfall.

DDP was buried without a doubt but I hear a lot of people saying he was buried by "Undertakers Wife" and that's simply not true.

I swear I've heard, and this could be totally false, that WWE doesn't want to tout a wrestling match as the highest rated segment, and would rather have it be a more "entertainment-oriented" segment.

Geez, I would absolutely believe that. The idea that wrestling itself isn't the draw is weirdly deeply ingrained in the televised side of the business, and Vince being insistent on that would be....very Vince.

The craziest thing about that list is something the Deadlock podcast boys talked about last month, the third highest rated segment of all time was The Mean Street Posse vs The Stooges.

Same here. I know they pushed that segment as a HUGE deal for a long time. I had no idea about the Austin/Taker match, but I know that Rock/Foley segment was their pride and joy for a good while. I was like 16, and I thought it was boring as shit. 😐

Chris Jericho won the WWF title in 2000 over Triple H. People say it happened on Raw, but it's not in the record books and Triple H says it never happened. I know it's a joke but damn you brought back some terrible memories haha. It wouldn't have been so bad if his next win wasn't so far down the road.

The rookie Daniel Bryan was trained by The Miz I think that is just The Miz being the miz. I never met anyome that thinks that. More correct would be " shawn michaels trained Bryan" which is just not true

For those who are not familiar with the term, The Mandela Effect is basically something that is perceived to be true, but in reality isn't. A good example of this is "Luke I am your father" from Star Wars... the actual quote is "No! I am your father". I'll start with one... Shawn Michaels superkicking Marty Jannetty through the Barber Shop window. In reality, Jannetty tried to escape like a coward was thrown through the window. Had to look up the Star Wars reference - you're right! www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwtaM0GC-js

Seems some people think Shawn sent Marty through the Barber Shop window via a superkick, rather than throwing him through it. This is probably conflating the superkick that signified the break-up and Shawn throwing him through the window which happened after the superkick. As a kid I always believed/thought this was how it happened. That he superkicked him.

I always thought they referred to it as the highest rated "segment" of all time because it was just that, a segment, not a match. And the Austin/Taker match was the highest rated RAW match of all time, but I'm not even sure if it's Top 10 all-time for WWE, and it may not be the highest rated cable match of all time (Hogan/Piper on MTV?), although I could be wrong on that one. Andre beating Hogan on Main Event 1 holds the record with a 15+ rating and over 30 million viewers, and the Savage/HonkyTonk Man match right before it is #2. Pretty sure prior to that, a battle royal won by Hercules on SNME in 1987 was the highest rated match of all-time.

I have a really bad memory about people's sizes, specifically I always remember the lower tier members of a stable physically smaller than they are. For example Road Dogg and Billy Gunn in my mind were in a light-heavyweight range, definitely smaller than Shawn and Chyna since they took orders from them. It wasn't literally until their comeback in like 2014 that I realised how huge Billy Gunn was.

It wasn’t until AEW that she noticed how Billy Gunn is practically a Giant there.
