Shida being scared is fine as long as it doesnt turn like 2019 Rollins pre Messiah character. Pretty much. If next week, she's whimpering on the ground crying as Abaddon approaches her, I'll agree it's dumb. For now, it's attempted bravado camoflaging intimidation which is perfectly fine. And well hopefully we dont get to see Abadon eating 423424 tamashi knees and never going down, and Aubrey going full Ron Zapata.

i don’t get why being afraid of something means you’re a dork, sorry not everybody’s like you tough guy I'm pretty sure there's a history of wrestlers overcoming their fears too no? I know wwe did that recently with Xavier Woods against the Wyatts Yeah, but you have to establish the fear first. Just going "they're scared, they look like such a dork" in the first 2 weeks" isn't super productive, especially when AEW has show it's pretty good following through on things.

Uh, they did establish it first. Abadon looks f***ing terrifying, and has been stalking Shida since the confrontation, liking all her Twitter posts, appearing behind her in photos. Shida has every right to be jumpy I would think.

This has likely already been said but outside cases like a Britt Baker the AEW women's division just feels ill defined in their characters and place on the show. With a show like Impact you can get an idea about individual talent's personalities more often than not, and even in something as goofy as Wrestle House, you understood the motivations and reactions of pretty much everyone there (Rosemary, Taya, Susie, Kylie, etc).
Heck the stuff with Susie/Su Yung right now is building off at least two years worth of angles that have involved Rosemary, Havok, and others and the longest running continual semi-narrative in Impact is with the likes of them more than any other male talents there.

Which.. Abadon, exact kind of character that should freak people out. Pre-emptively saying being scared is a bad thing isn't great.

How long until Shida sees Abadon in the mirror?

I like that Shida's scared of Abadon. (Shocking, given my sig pic of Abadon's debut, I know.)
It feels consistent. She wasn't afraid of Kong, or Nyla, but it isn't like she's always unshakeable. She sells for Abadon because she's really good at it, but beyond that, I think she's just more vulnerable to mental threats than physical ones.
When Hikaru Shida was new-er in AEW, and Riho was going to defend the Women's title against Emi Sakura, Shida was asked who would win the match. Hikaru had no hesitation saying she believed Emi Sakura would defeat Riho, with both Shida and Riho being students of Emi's. She was shown to be shocked when Riho overcame Emi Sakura and defended her title successfully.
Why am I connecting this and Abadon? It's because Emi Sakura intimidated Shida not physically, but psychologically due to being her trainer, someone who cut a rather imposing figure to her mentally. Hikaru Shida is someone who has faced overwhelming physical odds a number of times, and she doesn't intimidate easily there, but she isn't infallible or invincible. Abadon is uniquely positioned to challenge her psychologically, which is where Shida is considerably more vulnerable.

God keep Tessa far, far away from this company.
I actually think she could be an alright fit in WWE. Especially since there's such an established locker room hierarchy with the women that wouldn't take her shit, so either she matures or she becomes a pariah real quick.

Whether WWE, or AEW, I don't see Tessa working out for anyone. She hasn't learned from her past mistakes, Impact gave her the f***ing world when she didn't deserve it, and that blew up in their faces too. She's not worth it, and she may never be worth it.

Especially since there's such an established locker room hierarchy with the women that wouldn't take her shit, so either she matures or she becomes a pariah real quick. I've held that same stance for a while. In AEW, she's more likely to come in and take control of the locker room and throw her weight around. She can't do that in WWE. She tries big leaguing girls like the Horsewomen or Asuka or Mickie and she's digging her own grave. And then they won't just release her, they'll bury her and further work to devalue her stock which would already be rock bottom.

Given the fact that she's traveled across the border since the wedding via her IG, I wouldn't be surprised if the source for the story was Tessa.

Easy when she's the only one allowed segments and promos

Easy when she's the only one allowed segments and promos Also helps that this was one of the rare times the women were not in a terrible late show spot.

Easy when she's the only one allowed segments and promos Thank You. That is actually my biggest issue with the womens division ever since the start of it.

Easy when she's the only one allowed segments and promos True, if the other women were featured on Dynamite regularly throughout the year, they'd be drawing viewers as well as the NXT women do.

Are we still pushing this rhetoric that Britt is the only one who gets screentime? And that the girls haven't been getting really nice ratings even in Quarter 7 the last like month or so? Britt hasn't been the only one drawing, what is that even?
Yeah Baker's one of the top draws and one of the top featured, but does this thread have to find literally any reason to be pessimistic about the division? They're finally featuring the girls more and giving them more promo time and exposure with multiple storylines going on per week now in some facet. Britt and Leyla Hirsch did a great number for them as did the Rosa beatdown post match. Yet we're still finding reasons to bitch?
I get we wanna see the girls do better, but we really need to stop forcing some reason to be angry about the girls. It's getting to the point where it feels like some people aren't ever gonna be satisfied and it's getting a tad eye-rolling.

It's not rhetoric when Brit really gets a bunch of the screen time not the "only one"
