I'll believe ROH is still alive when they have a show again and even then it's going to take awhile to convince me it's not on life support.

Yeah, that statement is a little too "There's No War In Ba Sing Se" for my liking.

The joke I keep playing in my head is all of this happened because Dalton Castle was "busy." come on, it's not Dalton's fault. if any wrestler is to blame, we all know who it is {Spoiler} ![](https://c.tenor.com/Pk91V7sqli8AAAAM/danhausen-meh.gif) the dude's been cursing people left and right for a year. eventually that's going to catch up with the whole promotion

The Mat Men Podcast talked about this and while they did say that the Sinclair financial situation was thr main reason for this. The sense they got was that Sinclair started to lose a lot of interest in ROH after the fan response to the MSG show The further we move from that show, it only becomes clearer how much of a disaster that show was for them. There's a pretty stark difference between ROH pre and post MSG, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

It's amazing to look back on: I was there, and didn't feel like it was any kind of a disaster, just that the NJPW matches stood out better and that things like the Enzo/Cass angle attempt and choosing the MSG to crown Taven felt like weird choices. However, my perception was not the same as what many people saw: to them, it was "So, this is ROH without the Elite, huh?", which was a perception they couldn't afford to gain. Add in the "be a fan" story, Scurll's eventuall fall from grace, and it was just the worst perception they could've had at a time when they had a lot of eyes on them. Which brings us to what happened after: ROH's shows got much better pretty quickly, and upon return from the early pandemic break they really hit it out of the park with their Pure Title tournament, the eventual Women's Title tournament, bringing in some hot indie names like Chris Dickinson, Danhausen, and Tony Deppen, and just generally putting on a really solid weekly one hour show. But...not many people really noticed. Maybe the damage of losing the Elite was already done; maybe memories of MSG and the "fan" story were too much for many; maybe their good shows just weren't worth checking out to many people at a time when AEW was building up its reputation. Whatever the reason, even a seemingly revamped ROH just wasn't drawing enough attention. Still, that doesn't mean ROH would have had to get to this point if Sinclair hadn't blown it all so badly on those regional sports networks. It likely could've kept doing what it had been doing, albeit maybe with a few fewer full time contracts for a little while (seen in them bringing in a few more unsigned, pay-by-appearance wrestlers of late), but now all these factors have combined to lead to this point. Hopefully it's simply not the end, and things can be rebuilt to offer the industry another decent option for full time contracts and decent pay.

I also don't think we should pretend things were peaches and cream for ROH before then either. They had been bleeding top talent to the WWE for years, had forgettable title reigns by Christopher Daniels and Dalton Castle, a lengthy and uneventful title reign by Jay Lethal that seemed to only continue because they had nobody else to conceivably hold the belt, letting NJPW talent steamroll over your regular roster, and the women's division was a mess long before the Beautiful People showed up. Delirious' booking was beyond stale long before the MSG situation, and the company was basically being propped up by how immensely popular The Bullet Club/The Elite were, but the writing was on the wall for them as far back as the Kyle O'Reilly situation. Heck, I'd argue it was obvious as far back as the Michael Elgin-visa issue.

None of this changes my assumption about ROH.
All this said to me was, there have been no offers on the library, yet, but if the price is right, then of course we're selling it.

youtu.be/Ks6Pk91kbDYThe Halloween Special!! It is sad both Max and Danhausen had a crappy Halloween weekend, Max’s car got totaled in accident caused by another driver, (they said their other income was Doordash, which they are unable to do now as well, though now I’m just picturing them delivering peoples food in full make up) and Danhausen broke his leg at Indy show Halloween night. (Mance Warner got a leg injury as well on the same show literally the match right before) Also Ian has shared his thoughts and outlook on Twitter. twitter.com/ianriccaboni/status/1454885812668149760?s=21Ian, you could take a any match, an opening match, a squash match, a match that just wasn’t clicking, and make it feel like a main event. I wish you well in the future.

In a joking way sure. The point that was made was that there was a clear difference in quality from the New Japan wrestlers and the ROH ones. Now they did make a good point in that ROH knew they had to evolve from what they were even in 2019 but the feeling they got was that the perception of ROH was once The Elite left, many fans just dint care about ROH or give them a chance

So, this match is going to be happening before RoH goes on hiatus.
There is so much running through my mind here that it's causing a breakdown of senses.

Not that long ago, ROH was on in my area 5 times each weekend:
Saturday at 4:00 PM (independent) Saturday/Sunday at 3:00 AM (Fox station) Sunday at 12:00 PM (independent) Sunday at 10:00 PM (independent) Sunday/Monday at 3:00 AM (Fox station)
A month or two ago, the two late night spots got taken over by sitcom reruns. It looks like starting this weekend, the same thing is happening with the Saturday at 4:00 slot. My guide is listing two Modern Family episodes instead of ROH.

Two Sinclair stations here. Each one showed it Saturday and Sunday. Now i think it’s just down to one airing.

I've had ROH on two stations for about three years now (my cable package has changed a lot, used to be on four different channels for me in 2016) and for the very first time ever it was pre-empted on both this past weekend for local high school football, so that's a bummer.
Was the Halloween episode that went on Youtube on Sunday the one from this past weekend, or this coming weekend or was it a YouTube exclusive?

The ideal situation is that another Tony Khan-like figure (really rich wrestling fan who isn't a money mark) comes along and buys ROH outright from Sinclair. Then they can effectively resurrect the company as an independent entity free from Sinclair's bullshit. Swerve, Dixie Carter returns
