This might all still go through but by Christ is it hitting some stronger than expected headwinds. I mean it’s reported that Man City and Chelsea were afraid of being left behind so they joined up and as we see above there is at least one team getting second thoughts on the whole thing. I’m not up to date on what the financial situation is with Spurs but given they’ve a new stadium they probably could do with money to help that debt. Juventus and Real Madrid have been upfront and clear why there are involved with a surprising lack of PR spin for 2021. I think the Liverpool owners will never be forgiven for this whether it happens or not. Liverpool fans have form in getting American owners to piss off home.

Tottenham are the most in debt club in the world, with a hair under £1.2 billion owed. Barcelona are second (£1.03 billion) and then Atletico Madrid (£804 million).

The only folks who care or like the idea of the Super League on the fans' side are those who only want to see the heavyweights go at it, completely ignorant as to why it's special when it happens in Champions League and how that allure would be gone if they all played regularly.
It's like eating your favorite dessert every night. Sooner or later, you'll get sick of it and want something with actual nutrition.

The Real Madrid president brought up Real's debt and was like 'no body did anything about it'. I mean mate, that's how it works. You put yourself in debt why should you look to others to bail you out. I run a small family business and no one is helping me if I run myself into deep debt. Why should it be any different for you f***ers.

Reports that Barca and Atletico Madrid are out. Either this wasn’t as set in stone as was believed or they have very loose structures to leave this group.

Good, I hope this starts a domino effect with teams falling in line.
And as I'm posting this, news came out that Atletico Madrid are also pulling out, and Barcelona are seemingly reluctant.

Love that it's falling apart so quickly. Last two to withdraw get kicked out the premier league.

I’m really convinced that someone like Perez saw the statements from the respective FAs and basically decided to call their bluff, not alerting any of the other clubs in the process which was why he was the first to do interviews about it in the aftermath.

Talk sport are reporting that all 12 clubs are meeting tonight to discuss what to do. There's only one choice they can make to save face. Either they scrap the plans or risk losing support altogether.
They wanted to form their own Super League out of pure greed, and now it's backfiring in their faces. You love to see it.
