That seems like a really weird and arbitrary change. I'm kind of trying to even imagine a reason for it and the most I'm coming up with is, "People liked Gravity Falls." I keep coming up with kissing cousins from Sailor Moon. |

Really doesn't make sense for them to be turned into siblings given how they were in the original. I get that concern, even if when I was a kid my sister and I thought they were siblings at first anyway. Really, it just separates the romance angle between the two and that one joke. Other than that it's whatever to me. Plus, unless it's a continuation like what Animaniacs has done, you want to change some stuff for a reboot otherwise what's the point? Nothing that would be TOO drastic, but enough to give its own flavor. |

Martin Mystery did the exact same thing too That was at least an adaptation thing though I think... in the original material they were divorced... that said I remember they still left in a lot of the tension between the two of them... (hey it was the Totally Spies people they clearly needed to get at least one weird fetish in somewhere.) |

Which likely helped in getting the character on TV. Brown would go on to voice another shapely character, Minerva Mink, on Animaniacs. |

They probably had something even worse in scripts and storyboards that took the attention from the censors. It's how you got some of the innuendo and stuff in Animaniacs (most notably the "Finger Prince" joke) |
