NHL is gonna be really disappointed if Vegas doesn’t win this year. They’ve had the how “wicked successful the NHL in Vegas and how quickly” speech written for years and they can’t f***ing wait to deliver to it.
I do not like the Habs at all but even the national media is treating them like, “Well Vegas is gonna win tonight, obviously, it’s just how easily”.
All the TSN coverage tonight was them wondering how the Habs could possibly win with only Luke Richardson as their coach!!!!!!

Of course they did. Right after I told my wife there was 2 minutes left and I'll be in bed, Fleury goofed and Montreal tied it up. Shut the TV off after regulation. Was already looking forward to lying down.

Nice gutty win by Islander. New York is now their town, the spotlight is all on them, and they have the best chance to bring the New York a championship.

That islanders vs lightning game was crazy. After the second I thought this was a route by NY seeing as they were up 3 to 0. I come back mid way through the third to check the massacre and damn tampa is now one goal behind what happened? And at the end with just like 2 mins left tampa take a phantom tripping call negating their 6 man advantage and so I think oh it is over Isles have it. And with 8 seconds left tampa almost scores when one of their players does a figure 8 spin, fooling the goalie and making him break his ankles, and just when you think he'll score with the prettiest move Polak? jumps in front of the net and makes the save to hold on to victory. Gutsy play. I am thinking whoever wins this series probably wins the cup.

39 minutes in, Byron with the first goal. Montreal up 1-0 after 2.

Lightning with 6 goals in 2 periods, no chance in who knows where now for the Islanders to come back from that

In true NY fashion, they not only lose but embarrass themselves in the process.
Another sport down, Another failure.
NY sports is dead.

Yo can my Knights stop losing winnable playoff series against lesser teams already?

They wouldn't even be in the playoffs if covid didn't make Canada play in it's own division. So let's not act like Montreal is an actual world beater, they benefited from the easiest division in hockey. They're playing well in the playoffs no doubt but every hockey fan knows they didn't belong in the first place

Teams been busting ass to get to this point and it feels a bit demeaning to try to reduce their accomplishments at this point.

Montreal is a solid team who is playing their best at the end of the year. They have a number of things going for them. Momentum, goaltending, and a good deal of luck.
The NHL has more parity than any other league. Even when teams like Penguins, Blackhawks, and Kings win multiple Cups, you still have game 7s that could go either way in there. The Penguins went to 2OT in game 7 against Ottawa. Chicago beat Anaheim in 7 games for their last Cup winning a 2 OT game, a 3 OT game, and game 7. My Blues were a Jamie Benn wraparound away from losing to the Stars in game 7 2OT. Literally 2 inches between Cup and nowhere near. The margin between a 2nd round loser and a Cup champion is RAZOR thin. If Tavares doesn't get his head taken off in a crazy play, Montreal probably loses. If they were in their normal division, they miss the playoffs entirely by quite a bit of points.
None of which takes away the fact that they're playing arguably the best hockey of the teams left. Tampa is always a powerhouse, but Montreal is playing great defense, their forecheck is a beauty to watch, and Price is as locked in as I've ever seen him. Danault is playing Selke-caliber defense, and I'm not even sure if they come up short that even Montreal fans are going to want to pay him.

No matter what happens, the Islanders not going down in their house. So give them credit for that.
I honestly don't know what will happen on Friday, depends which Islander goalie shows up.
