Anyone an expert on if this guy has any credibility for this sector? Because I haven't heard of him before now. Like, we're not exactly talking about Patrick Klepek here. Thinking of reaching out to SRS and see what the validity is of this. He generally has a good idea if a reporter is legit and whatnot, and will usually check with his sources to confirm.

Yeah, it seems like he'd have been the one to uncover this if there was something before but then this guy might have expertise and such that I'm not unfamiliar with. I'm basically saying I don't want this to be another "The Queen died according to Entertainment Instagram nobody's heard of" situation.

Anybody else find it weird that they waited until the new footage was released until they published that story or is this one of those things where a journalist has sat on a story to release it at the same time for maximum exposure 😂

No way it comes out in September right? It doesn't look ready at all

So this is targeting Switch as 1 of the platforms, right? It feels like with those graphics they must be.

Maaaaaan. I really don’t know how I’m landing with the art style of the game. It’s in this weird area between cartoony and realistic and it just looks weird.

The closer we get to this game coming out, the more I feel like we may have to brace ourselves for a game that might look a bit unpolished and be a bit lacking in sheer weight of content, but generally has its heart in the right place. If there were any intent on doing this as a yearly release (and I don’t get any indication that there is), it would be the foundation upon which the next game in the series would try and blow people away.

All I ask is it's better than the TNA game from around 2008-09. I remember anticipating that for a year or more and it ended up being garbage outside of the graphics which were really good.
My expectations are tempered though. I remember so much hype about that Elite GM mobile game with the likes of Omega and Aubrey talking it up like it would be a much better/updated version of the old GM mode from Smackdown v Raw and it ended up an unplayable mess even by mobile standards. And yes, I know they weren't exactly going to come out and say "hey, our game sucks!" but at the time there was a lot of "these aren't corporate people, they are real gamers so if they're saying it's great I would listen." I'll wait and see what the initial reviews are like then decide if this is worth a pick up. The main selling point for me will be being able to play as the Fenix and Pentagons and the others who've never really been in games before (to my knowledge).

There have been way more terrible wrestling games than good ones. Something on the level of a mediocre 2k or SDvsRaw with AEW wrestlers is all anyone can realistically hope for and would be a massive success. As for the Omega stuff... people should remember how the first reports of fall outs between the EVPs were dismissed out of hand. It's entirely plausible that a pro wrestler jumping into a senior position making a big budget video game might lead to some teething issues with the developers.

Never heard of the guy in games media before. I'd want to hear from a more known, reliable source before thinking this report has any merit.

Man I downloaded that Elite GM game after all that hype from NewLegacy and Pulse. Then I played it and realized ohhhhh they’re friends with the people that made it. Shit sucked and barely worked

I’m remaining optimistic: if it turns out good, good. If it’s lame, I don’t got to lay down money on getting back into gaming - _ -

At least the TNA game was f***ing hilarious to play once with 3 friends though. Between the way any strike would interrupt moves and the glitching, we had a hoot.

Pretty much the entire time this game's existence has been up in the air I've been seeing it as pretty likely to turn out being not very good and a total money pit for the company. I might look into it if it gets good reviews and word of mouth but I'm not seeing a lot of reason to be pumped for it at launch.

Frankly if this is all they are showing after this much development time its not going to be very good.

As far as graphics go, the worst part about it is the lighting is practically non-existant beyond a basic level. Good lighting makes a huge difference. That's also something that gets worked on until the game goes gold.
Also weird to see people thinking 50 wrestlers is small. Compared to the likes of a modern WWE 2k game? Sure. But that's also a lot more than I expected for a first release.
Ultimately this didn't really give me much indication of how it plays. So the jury's still out there.

Having watching Uno and Chugs play games with the No Mercy-style engine, looked like to me they might have something similar to the "no selling" style of blocking strikes. Looked like Nyla took a couple strikes in a similar manner during the video.

I’ll continue to be cautiously optimistic, but this game looks like an episode of WhaHappun just waiting to be made at this point.

Frankly if this is all they are showing after this much development time its not going to be very good. I mean I wouldn't go that far. It's been in development for what? Only 2 years? And then you have a pandemic on top of that? Making a brand new game from the ground up takes a very long time in normal times.
