The TNA game had a pretty sparse roster and no real customization or create modes either, IIRC. Gameplay was weird too. Graphics were about the only thing it had. It should also be said that the TNA game had a messy developmental history and given to a team with zero wrestling game experience so the first one was always going to be the first attempt and using that experience for the next one…which never happened. Yeah after the first game came out, Midway went into freefall as they had a lot of problems. The license ended up in the hands of the infamous SouthPeak Games. I think the only thing they did with the license was port the game to the PSP and DS, add some more wrestlers, and changed the name.

I really liked the base of what the TNA game had to offer. I liked the gameplay a lot. It just felt like they didn't put enough effort into it. Double the amount of moves and offer more customization and it would have been very solid.

This is automatically a step up from the TNA game because it actually seems to have a submission system, rather than somehow getting a pinfall off a Scorpion Deathlock.
Graphics look fine IMO. So long as the gameplay and career mode are solid I’ll definitely pick this up.

I think the TNA game sold pretty well too. Just not good enough to save Midway from its myriad financial problems.

..if the gameplay/wrestling looked better, I wouldn’t care about the mini games. But if the gameplay ends up sucking and they did that..
I dunno. Games not even out yet and I’d love to know how the development of this went down.

I'll buy it. It'll be awesome to play as some of these guys for the first time.
I wonder if we'll get any NJPW people?

I have some of the old ps2 Japanese wrestling games, and they rock.

This is how you win the BTE belt in the game.

I'm guessing the roster cutoff point was before Khan bought Ring of Honor, too. Guess there's always a sequel or dlc for that though.

I think it’s kind of concerning also that in this very packaged, prepared, small vertical slice of the game that you can see models running in place during matches and mini games.

I’m hoping this is a replay of 1998 where I didn’t enjoy what wcw was doing on tv at the time but I absolutely loved Revenge.

These mini games are beyond ridiculous and have nothing to do with the product or wrestling...Atleast in Virtua Tennis the mini games actually made sense using the in game mechanics...This looks like a mobile mashup

The mixed reaction they're getting to this after all the time and money sunk into it is ominous as all hell.

Also does Brit's model have the glove on the ENTIRE match? No Mercy didn't even have Socko on his hand the whole match

I'm really excited after today. Especially with the mini games. It seems like their goal is fun which is what I want from these games.
