Mini games can have their place, loved the ones in Crazy Taxi and the Virtua Tennis series for example.

I'm amazed people complaining about graphics yet I bet have no problem playing Fire Pro. Like others said this a style choice. You can like or not, but Omega has said this isn't going to be like the WWE 2k games.
About the mini games... it's an interesting approach to a wrestling game. I imagine it could be like Smash or Yakuza. Games that have mini games to introduce something different into the gameplay. Yakuza 7 had a weird ass can collecting mini game that was fun to play.

Then it would make sense.

If they’re fun, whatever. But why are we seeing this stuff before we’ve seen a full match in the game, anything from season mode or any of the specialty matches that are in the game. I think that’s the big complaint, it’s bizarre to see this weird side stuff before core elements of the game they’ve been talking about since day one.

That is all ,we saw matches before this. We have video gameplay as little it is and we have just screenshots of some random minigame. We have gotten more about matches than about whatever this is that we don't even properly.knoe what is. It's a screenshot that's gets people to speculate what it is ,that's about it.

But that’s the thing, I think people are allowed to criticize or be alittle worried that this full priced release has barely shown anything when it’s supposedly close to release. The gameplay they’ve shown has been absolutely tiny. Small clips of one or two moves being done. There’s nothing to hook onto or really get excited about. The pre alpha footage of Darby and Jungle Boy looks about as smooth as the most recent stuff we’ve seen except with slightly more polished models I’m saying this because I WANT to be excited! I play every single wrestling game that comes out and this one was exciting because it actually has a chance to be good and it’s from a new promotion. All I’ve seen so far is stiff half seconds of main mode gameplay and dollar tree looking Wii mini games. They need to get off their ass and show the main meat of the game and show off the gameplay in a big meaningful way or it’s getting tossed into the bargain bin upon release with the general public.

There's a THQ Nordic showcase coming this month. They're likely saving the prime gameplay footage for that event.
Though to be honest when it comes to that stuff I don't get a whole lot out of it. Gameplay footage doesn't tell me what the controls are like and those are so important for wrestling games. I can only guess from Yuke's previous games. If it's like Day of Reckoning or SVR06, I'm going to be very excited. If it's like the earlier Smackdown games, less so but still looking forward to it. If it's like WWE 2k, eh.
That's why I really hope they release a demo even though those are rare these days. Hands on experience means so much more to me with a fighter or wrestling game than any dev interviews or sizzle reels.

If this game is even moderately nostalgic to HCTP/DOR/SVR06 I'm gonna buy like 12 copies and stan for it hardcore just bracing everyone for that now

AEW revealed their Fight Forever game cover, which we've gained some more information about.
Fightful Select learned that THQ Nordic's team designed the cover, as opposed to All Elite Wrestling's graphics team. People within AEW didn't even know until the cover was leaked the day before that the cover athletes would be featured, and that goes for the actual athletes themselves.
As we reported, there is a story mode that we've heard is "much different" than many wrestler's story mode. There are also more mini-games than the ones shown on the AEW Twitch stream this week. We've learned that the fourth mini-game is related to Orange Cassidy.
There are several talent that arrived around the beginning of the year that we're told likely won't make the roster cut. The internal release date has been moved several times, but at one point was planned for late September. However, Kenny Omega told us recently that it will hopefully release this year.
We've also heard that Yuke's has kicked game production into high gear the last several months to make additions and fixes to the game. We've heard the story mode is much different than any before it.
We've heard rumors emerging from the publisher and developer that we will likely see more on the game next month in Japan.
Explains why the cover is so ugly lmao

Tokyo Game Show is next month so that's probably what Fightful is referring to.

The big takeaway I'm having from this is maybe it'll be worth picking up heavily discounted if it's received decently but no way I'd gamble on this at launch. It just looks very cheap and wonky, and like the minigames are a quickie way to add more content to a game that doesn't have a lot of it.
Also aesthetically it's just... Not pleasant. Like, it's not the worst thing ever, it looks better than WWE Battlegrounds, and graphics aren't a huge deal to me anyway, but I just do not like the look of this. And it really contributes to the overall cheap cash-in feel this has going for it.

This is what Paul Heyman said about ECW’s 1st game before it came out and that game was less than stellar.

This is what Paul Heyman said about ECW’s 1st game before it came out and that game was less than stellar. That was most definitely a press release quote written by someone else that they used in the magazine and not words that came out of Heyman's mouth.
