Yeah, I like how there are signatures and finishers from every grapple point. Makes things pretty exciting and you don't have to struggle to figure out how to hit someone's finisher. It sounds very similar to Day of Reckoning in that regard, and I loooooved DoR 1 and 2. I think DoR’s gameplay was the “improved No Mercy” that everyone has been begging for for decades. The thing that held DoR back from being as memorable was lack of content and being stuck on the GameCube

I think it kinda makes sense from a content standpoint. The Smackdown games just had so much more stuff to do and what felt like a bigger roster. Plus like I said, being on the GameCube didn’t help DoR. As much as I love that thing, it was a bit of a flop of a console

No ability to share created characters as of yet. Big swing and miss. No Community Creations equivalent? Damn. That is absolutely criminal and massive. If it's basically Retromania then I am out. Kenny was a huge fan of Fire Pro so it's wild that creations arent able to be shared.

There is a CAW mode confirmed for the game, but not being able to download wrestlers from other people is disappointing.

Like it doesn't have to be intricate...Assign a code to each one like Mario Maker and just download per code...The creation suites on the consoles are what keeps these games alive...Fire Pro thrives off it. This is a major mark missed and something that should have been settled early.

I really liked what I saw! It's different which is what I want. If you can't be better visually, be fun and I think it will be.

I'm sold. Simple and classic AKI style gameplay, seems like it won't be too demanding on my limited free time. Not being able to share CAWs is a bit of a letdown, but I'm happy enough knowing a CAW mode exists.

I just wanna know how many CAW slots there are. I'm hoping for at least 50, but I'd like to see 100 or more.

It sucks, but that sort of thing takes a lot of time and resources to do properly. The phrasing makes me think they're working on it but they're not expecting it to be ready by the game's launch. Just as long as it's a free download, because charging extra would be real stupid. Better to do it right and have it delayed than to screw it up or delay the game even further for it. And that's including the expected Day 1 issues like overloaded servers. And I agree with the Day of Reckoning love. DoR2 especially was really good. But yeah, while the GameCube did well for itself, it was mostly because of the Nintendo games. With only a few exceptions like Resident Evil 4, third party games weren't nearly as popular on the thing as people generally preferred the PS2 or Xbox for those.

Yeah, one of the things I like about this game is it sounds like they'll be supporting it for awhile after launch. Doubt it'll be anything close to a game like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 that's been out forever and is still getting DLC, but sounds like it'll be getting updates for awhile.

I wonder what the line for success on this game is internally to green light a sequel.

Game play looks fun. As others have said, DOR feel.
I really wanna see CAW mode.

Yeah, definitely giving me Day of Reckoning vibes which is a good thing. Lack of being able to share CAWs online really is a killer though, that'd pretty tremendously limit my interest in playing it past an initial curiosity. Think where I'm falling on this is a probably discounted a few months later but not at launch purchase.

I wonder what the line for success on this game is internally to green light a sequel. So apparently the game was over budget so I would say breaking even would definitely green light a sequel as the majority of the heavy lifting would be completed or at a stable state. Which is a great sign because i absolutely love the AKI engine and still play mods of No Mercy to this day. If they can get it right in an upcoming entry the PC versions will live on forever just like Fire Pro World will now

If it's the true that you won't be able to download other CAWS...that's kind of a dampener on what's going to be/look like a great game. But nevertheless, I can't wait for it.

If there really isn't a community creations like thing, maybe someone will really hop on the nostalgia train and have a site like caws.ws. Hopefully without the malware and other weirdness that site had.

Hopefully without the malware and other weirdness that site had. AEW Fight Forever is gonna single-handedly keep the lights on over at GameFAQs. That, and the Suikoden franchise. Because God knows you can't beat those games without a walkthrough.

Full Twitch stream for anyone that missed it. Highlight for me was Uno talking about the crowd chants, noting that they've been recording live crowds for months to get actual chanting.
Uno: If you've been to any of our live shows in America, you may have... *Colt offscreen notes that he hasn't been on AEW TV in months* Uno: You have not? Wow. *Both laugh*
