Like I said in my previous post, my understanding is that FF is somewhat of a long term project, kind of like how Fire Pro kept adding DLC Like the Stardom packs, Move Craft, and Parts Craft after the initial announced releases. I doubt it's going to be a yearly release, instead adding wrestlers (and possibly features) to the initial 50 person roster. So I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we saw FTR in a DLC pack. I wish they were in the base game, but I'm not losing hope yet that they won't be in there. Yuke's probably wouldn't be working on AEW games if it was intended to be the same yearly grind that made them quit the WWE2K series.

The game was nominated for the award alongside GOAL! The Club Manager and Ultimechs.

Kinda think it's bullshit that former tag team champions are not in the game, honestly. Doubly bullshit if the plan is to milk out more money from consumers by having wrestlers who have been with the company for three years be PAID downloadable content. Not if they're going to add onto this game over time. That's just modern video games. Halo launched with basically just multiplayer, and even that was just like three or four maps. They want about 50 wrestlers at launch, and to add more over time. We don't know if they're all going to be paid DLC or free DLC but they have said "more people will be added over time".

I certainly hope they beef up their roster with free DLC but I am skeptical that's the way it'll go, personally. HOpe to be proven wrong.

I'd be really surprised if new wrestlers were free DLC outside of maybe a few here and there. Depends on how they're priced. But with WWE2K and even Fire Pro charging money for new wrestler DLC, I can't see why AEW FF would be any different.

I get the point that it’s a feature of modern gaming with DLC and I normally don’t mind it too much but if the rumours are true and less than half of AEWs roster is in the base game then that’s horses***

I don't mind if they want to add legends, random wacky characters or newer wrestlers who couldn't make the cut-off date later on as DLC but there's no excuse for important regular members of the roster who've been there for years not to be in the base game. FTR being DLC would be like making New Day or the Usos DLC in 2K.
Between the limited roster and CAW functions this is seeming pretty bare bones which would be okay if the price reflected it. It's a full priced game though. If you're charging AAA prices then I'm gonna judge your game by AAA standards.
This is looking more and more like a pick up a few months later at reduced rate than a day one purchase.

If that's the case, that actually increases the likelihood of them being free dlc as a patch update. Though you never know with this greedy ass industry.

I hope it's something along the lines of "FTR didn't want their likeness in this" vs "lol WHOOOOOPS" because that's a GLARING omission. Especially for a promotion that is known for loving tag team wrestling. Wheeler: “The only real issue is we were kind of blindsided by it. We found out like not how you would expect. And when you find out something like that — something major — like being taken out of a video game, your mind automatically assumes the worst. So for us, is this something we need to worry about? Should we read between the lines here? Were we not told for a reason? And now that we are aware and now that we are out, what is that reason? Is it something we should worry about. We got an answer. It made a lot of sense; very logical answer. We said, “ok, cool”. As long as we don’t have to worry about it, nonissue.” It wasn’t a “FTR didn’t want their likeness in the game” issue at all.

The supposed reason FTR got and them responding "Oh cool. That makes sense" seems to line up with the idea that there were technical issues that can't get resolved in time as opposed to a slight against them.

So how are we thinking DLC packs would be going? I've thought of three but the second one would absolutely depend on if they can license the New Japan guys.
-ROH Pack-
FTR Samoa Joe Claudio Yuta
-Forbidden Door-
Switchblade Suzuki Rocky Romero Archer (depending on if he's in the base roster or not)
-The House Always Wins-
Brody King Buddy Matthews Julia Hart Danhausen (as a joke because it would kayfabe annoy King)

Assuming FTR isn't part of a free update pack to make good on why they weren't included in the base game:
Pack 1:
Dax Cash Toni Storm Samoa Joe
Pack 2:
Danhausen Hook Jeff Hardy (controversy aside, he's a big name) Athena
Pack 3:
Matt Menard Angelo Parker Daniel Garcia Kiera Hogan
Pack 4:
Claudio Wheeler Yuta Keith Lee Swerve Strickland
Pack 5:
Brody King Buddy Matthews Kyle O'Reilly Bobby Fish
Pack 6
RUSH Lee Moriarty Jay Lethal Satnam Singh

Tapping into true Yukes PS2 era nostalgia to randomly not include tag teams Remember when Deuce and Domino were champs in 2007 and that was like the one shot either could remotely make a video game?

Kinda think it's bullshit that former tag team champions are not in the game, honestly. Doubly bullshit if the plan is to milk out more money from consumers by having wrestlers who have been with the company for three years be PAID downloadable content. Think of it like this. One of the things I counter with whenever people would complain about the price of Fire Pro World's DLC being so expensive is to look at the timeline. Fire Pro released in 2017. If you paid for all of the DLC full price, the game costs about $200, Now that's if you bought everything at have value, not buying bundles or buying the game when it's in sale, which happens often. In the same time that Fire Pro was out and was being actively supported, WWE released 4 baseline games, 18,19,20, and 22. Combined, the total MSRP amount of all of the DLC for those 4 games was over double the price of Fire Pro. Granted, both series cater to different audiences and offer different experiences in varying degrees, but if given the choice, I feel like the best path to take is to support a solid game engine with DLC and updates, paid or free, than trying to reinvent the wheel every year and making customers pony up the cash (which, granted, they do anyways, so more power to them) by cutting the life cycle of the previous game short. Bottom line, as long as the core engine of Fight Forever is fun and engaging, I have no problem with paid DLC as long as it's an investment in the future, and not a soulless yearly money grab.

And with the 2k games you also have a lot of loot boxes and microtransactions. Let's hope that particular slice of AAA video game industry hell isn't in Fight Forever.

I remember that being SVR08 and they had to revert the titles back to the previous holders which were Batista and Rey Mysterio who last held the titles in December 2005.
