I mean, sure, but some of those margins weren't exactly massive compared to his earlier appearences. Like, I'm not saying they weren't big but from what I remember, they weren't exactly things that would signify "Man, this guy would be HUGE for another wrestling company". I will say Cena always had a big bump in his ratings. Which made the whole direction they had for him where they practically eroded his drawing power super goddamn weird. I think history is going to be very kind to Cena when we look back in terms of being a draw. He might be one of the last true WWE movers in terms of tickets/ratings for a long time. Oh, I've said this for a long time, WWE would be in much deeper shit if it wasn't for Cena. I'm not going to say "We'd have a 1995 situation on our hands in the late 2000s" but if they were doing the ratings they had now that they did in 2005-8 on a network that had enough hits going where they didn't nessesarily needs WWE? I'd very much think WWE would be desperate to find a new suiter ASAP before they were pushed.

I'll be honest, a few hundred thousand sounds really optimistic. Like, ridiculously so. I just see Lesnar as a big enough name to move the needle that much but maybe that’s being optimistic and it would be more like 100,000 on average. And I mean for his segments/matches of course and not the entire show to go up that much. We know there are enough people that actually know what AEW is as their debut show did what 1.4 million? Like, 100,000 seems more realistic to me. Maybe I'm missing this gigantic piece of the puzzle but I don't remember any really major growth under Lesnar that didn't fizzle out quickly ala Goldberg this year.

I don't think Lesnar has actually moved any legit numbers since the end of his 2012-signed contract. He helped with some buyrates, and then they stopped having buyrates.

Like, I feel he might have made a difference of sorts but it honestly just feels like there came a point where he just felt like a part of the show like everyone else can be. Which again leads me to say “Cena made a difference” and again makes me go “Why did you bury him so much you dumbasses?!”

I can try looking for the more recent quarter hour ratings but here was someone’s compilation of the biggest 2013 ratings movers based on the Observer’s Raw quarter hour breakdowns: Biggest Viewership Gainers Jan-Oct 2013 1 The Rock 335,698 2 Brock Lesnar 330,068 3 John Cena 328,401 4 Paul Heyman 317,531 5 HHH 259,420 6 CM Punk 246,534

And this is kind of what I meant, Brock's not drawing that much more in at that time frame on the ratings than people who could be there every week like Cena or Heyman, but I think he drew 20,000 buys to Extreme Rules or something?

I was just showing his drawing power from what I could find but as recently as 2018/2019, Meltzer was saying that Lesnar was still the biggest mover of numbers as far as viewership goes. I find that impressive considering he’d mostly just stand there and hop around.

TK said BIG Names, not just 1.
I wonder who is next? Angle? Or he will go for Rush and Dragon Lee leading to a ROH partnership?

Angle has been getting in great shape and said he feels good so I wouldn’t be opposed to an AEW run if he can redeem himself from the way he looked at the end of his WWE run.

Davey Boy Smith Jr has finished up with MLW it seems like. Time will tell if AEW will bring him in.

Sting is only five letters, though. Relatively small name, all things considered.

There is zero reason anyone should allow Kurt Angle to wrestle in 2020. I don't care what he says or if he signs the most comprehensive hold harmless waiver in history. The man has shown countless times that he has zero regard for his own well-being

The man has shown countless times that he has zero regard for his own well-being He was immobile/bulky in his last few matches sure, but does he have a long-term injury that should keep him from wrestling? He’s sober now too so if his body is in shape and he’s not injured (neck, concussions, etc), then why shouldn’t he wrestle? He’s “only” 51.
