The full cast has been announced. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Menkin will do the music.

Seriously, this would get so much props from me, if they have the bulls to kill off Arial at the end, like she is suppose to.

I was never a fan of the animated version, but thanks to my GF I will end up seeing this. The animated version is her favorite movie, she owns it on 4 different home video formats. And has forced me to watch it many times.
But I can't complain she isn't a huge fan of a few of my favorite movies. But she will sit there and watch them with me.
I hate how Disney changed the ending from the original fairy tale. But that what Disney does. Takes ancient stories and changes just enough where they can own their version.
Sadly as long as these live action remakes of their animated films keep making big money they will keep making them. I am slightly interested in say a live action version of Fantasia,Lilo and Stitch and if they had the balls Song of the South.

Forget that. Fox and the Hound. BASED ON THE BOOK.
And its official....expect Ursula to be a loud klutz. Cause that's all PSW do.

and if they had the balls Song of the South. I mean, most of it's live-action to begin with.

Why not get Queen Latifah to reprise Ursula, she really enjoyed playing her before I wonder if Disney sees her as "old" now, and that McCarthy is a new, currently relevant name? Or worse, like I said, prepare for an over the top, buffoonish, comedic version of Ursula. Because we must have jokes everywhere so kids don't get scared or worried (I love the MCU, but admit this flaw in them. HATED it when they tried to put it in Star Wars too, "yo momma" jokes? Really?) And you know, MM is a plus size woman, so she can only be a clown, right?

I think McCarthy could really chew up the scenery here in a great way.
It’s all going to come down to the writing, which doesn’t have me optimistic.

Outside of maybe Jungle Book, all have been mediocre to bad. Do we count the Maleficent movies as remakes? If so, not really suppportive of them not being crap.

Yeah I don't agree with this.. To be fair, I haven't seen Aladdin, but beauty and the beast and lion king were both good in my opinion.

They could probably get away with a SOTS remake if they set the framing sequence in modern times and made Uncle Remus a teacher or something (just retitle it "Mr. Remus").

It was okay, but like I said, safe and thus, well, mediocre. Don't get me started on LK '19.
