I seriously enjoyed Aladin a lot. Thought they went in different directions with the story at times, so it made it less like a scene for scene Remake. BatB I enjoyed despite it being almost scene for scene. Haven't watched the rest of the live action remakes though. Not really hype for this one since Melissa McCarthy irritates me in certain roles. Mainly when she's just the bumbling butt of the joke type character.

Then you mean ALL not CERTAIN roles ;-) (I don't dislike her, but think she allows herself to be typecast, and that's an understatement. Not a good idea if you want to be a role model for PSW too, though I don't think she thinks about that all the time)

BatB remake was eh. Didn’t do much the original did better.
Add me to those who thought 2019 Aladdin was kinda fun, in spite of its faults. Robin Williams is still the superior Genie, but I thought Will Smith was pretty amusing.
2019 TLK was ass. It wasn’t the worst movie that year (still superior to Loqueesha and Cats), but man was it bland and dull.
So I might give New Little Mermaid a chance, but I’m not expecting to be that blown away.

Ursula was based on Divine so it's not like the over the topness wasn't baked right into the character from jump street.

Shame Stephen Furst is dead, they could have done the obvious in-joke and cast him as Flounder (yes, I know Flounder is meant to be young).

Sadly I doubt it. And DAMN...RIP to a voice of many of our childhoods.

I think McCarthy could really chew up the scenery here in a great way. It’s all going to come down to the writing, which doesn’t have me optimistic. The other thing is, can she sing?

I never realized Lin Manuel Miranda was doing the music for this.
God I amd just absolutely not looking forward to it in any way now. I'm willing to be proved wrong but I hate Hamilton.

I just really hate Miranda's music and I have low hopes for him doing anything to such a classic soundtrack.

There’s just something about Part of Your World that makes me tear up every time I hear it. Shame about the over-singing though.
