Here's my SPOILER FREE 3 minute review (I liked it a lot and I say that as someone who wasn't super into the first Sonic movie):

Yeh really enjoyed it,love it was more game-focused.

Knuckles stole the show, I already loved Knuckles in the games and the movie nailed the dense,naive trustworthy personality.He is not a straight up moron but he is too serious for his own good.

Didnt care about any of the non-villain human character

Don't know if it'll mean anything in the grand scheme, but it's a practical name for it.

Okay, I’m not super familiar with the whole Penders thing, but how did Sega/Archie f*** up so badly that they had to settle a lawsuit with a dude that really should’ve fallen into “work for hire” comic writing? Like, if I’m writing a Superman comic and create a new character it’s owned by DC. How did this happen that he has some sort of copyright claim to concepts or characters he created for the Sonic comic?

Archie's lawyers actually couldn't find the work for hire contract Penders signed, which played a major factor in a settlement being reached. Pender's lawsuits against EA & Sega went nowhere, but the whole fiasco was enough for Archie to effectively reboot the series. Moreover with Sega (specifically SoJ) increasingly unhappy with certain decisions by Archie and uninterested in getting back characters they were lukewarm about to begin with, allowed the reboot to happen rather than dealing with legal problems again.

So I just got back from seeing it. It’s just as charming as the first one, only with more action and game references. Elba as Knuckles was subversively funnier than I thought he was going to be. Also, Tom and Sonic’s relationship got more attention, which I loved.

My screening was largely kids, and Knuckles had probably the most laugh moments from the audience.

The movie was fantastic, loved it more than the first which I also loved

Knuckles was great, Tails was great, Jim Carrey is LOVING this role so far, holy hell what perfect casting

I'm happy Sonic 3 was already confirmed to be in development, and I'm hyped for that Knuckles series after seeing how good he was in the film

That 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes proves they're doing it right

WAIT, JARED LE...oh, Mobius. Phew.

I just saw it, f***in' loved it. It was a movie for kids but not a kids movie, if that makes sense. Better than the first by far.

Geez, I remember initially being more on Penders' side since I hate the way the comics industry treats its writers and creators, but the guy burned any potential goodwill he could've had super quickly, huh.

I certainly remember Julie-Su...so, basically, he's just saying any non-Knuckles echidnas that bare the slightest resemblance to one of the Archie characters are his? Like, echidna love interest who knows how to fight for herself automatically makes her Julie, Knuckles having a dad automatically makes him Locke, etc.

yeh you got the idea. he also claimed Knuckles but Green as his( I'm not even kidding).

he also claimed the fact that the master emerald gives you powerin the movie is a rip off his villain that Is a spirit echidna living inside the emerald.

( Ignoring that idea could be just a SA 1 ripoff)
