I certainly remember Julie-Su...so, basically, he's just saying any non-Knuckles echidnas that bare the slightest resemblance to one of the Archie characters are his? Like, echidna love interest who knows how to fight for herself automatically makes her Julie, Knuckles having a dad automatically makes him Locke, etc. yeh you got the idea. he also claimed Knuckles but Green as his( I'm not even kidding). he also claimed the fact that the master emerald gives you powerin the movie is a rip off his villain that Is a spirit echidna living inside the emerald. ( Ignoring that idea could be just a SA 1 ripoff) And also...well, Master Emerald giving you power is game-canon too:  |

As noted, whatever ground Penders has gained has been rooted in Archie's incompetence, Sega largely ignoring him, and many of "his characters" not being considered critical to the narrative of the Sonic comics. If he actually tries to throw his weight around against a media giant like Paramount and especially its parent company, he will get smacked down hard. Viacom/CBS have shut down Star Trek fan projects that weren't even trying to charge/profit off of the franchise, and Penders thinks he can gain ground with a lawsuit?
At best he'll get nothing, and at worst he might find himself in a worse position of ownership than he started with.

At best he'll get nothing, and at worst he might find himself in a worse position of ownership than he started with. "The court rules that ownership of all the characters you have now goes to Ian Flynn to do with as he pleases if they don't interfere with anything of SEGA." You know Flynn would probably love to do a "Sonic: No Way Home" kind of thing if he had all the rights and such. |

Geez, I remember initially being more on Penders' side since I hate the way the comics industry treats its writers and creators, but the guy burned any potential goodwill he could've had super quickly, huh. Did he really need to use that skunk dude as his self insert to compete with Sonic over Sally? In retrospect it feels weird. |

He ultimately killed the Archie comics, or at least had a major hand in it's cancellation. |

I'd rather they had gone with Metal Sonic instead of Shadow for the next one. Think they could do more with Metal {Spoiler}{Spoiler}I always figured it'd be Shadow just since it feels like he has more name value, plus there's a generation that'll get hyped for Shadow while Metal Sonic is kind of inherently rooted in the same nostalgia this movie's selling on. {Spoiler} I'm legit surprised they didn't have Metal Sonic show up as a surprise secret weapon after Knuckles joins Sonic and Tails. |

I had a craptastic weekend at work, so I treated myself to the movie last night.
I had a total blast. I picked up on several game references. When my biggest complaint is "the dance battle went on a little too long," the movie did good in my book.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Probably won’t catch it in theatres, but I do really wanna see this when it hits streaming |

My husband and I went to see it yesterday. It was awesome!! I laughed waaaay too much at the wedding scene. And Sonic trying to fish.

Welp, that was pretty rough, perhaps even more so than the first one. Felt like so many of the human parts were just disjointed from everything else, like they'd figure out where to go and what was going on in-post or something like that. They'd react to *a thing* and then it was just like...okay? The constant pathos and moral message felt overbearing when contrasted with the never-ending humor... I don't know, I tend to enjoy how Pixar approaches & balances these topics (usually), but this wasn't even in the same ballpark as that. The jokes....a few got me, like changing the restaurant grade to dissuade people from coming in was hilarious, but my God does it never end, even in tense moments. Kids in the theater reacted to a handful, but the focus testing wasn't quite on the mark with some of them; I think flossing is finally passé. I did like that they followed some of the main core story beats of the original trilogy, but all it made me want to see was an entire movie about the echidna/owl war from the opening of the first film. I think I just don't like that these movies try to involve modern jokey humans with these fantastical creatures. They did try and give us more of the fantasy settings from the games, which I liked the most. Seeing these characters duking it out in a place that felt like it belonged in their universe was appreciated. Did we have to go to another f***ing bar, though? Just in case...(about ending climax) {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Holy crap, Death Egg Robot! I haven't seen any trailers so I don't know if that was a surprise, but it was to me. The redesign felt sensible and I liked how it all came together. So bravo to that, but having him dance and shit, then never playing the epic boss battle music from Death Egg Zone? Are you kidding me? The last thing that part needed was comedic relief. The ECW RVD/Pantera song was kinda cool I guess, but it felt like a missed mark and reminded me of that awful Power Rangers movie from several years ago barely even using the song. Super Sonic was done well, they didn't even pretend Robotnik had a chance to counter him, which was nice. I feel like the chilidog joke was a good place to cut the tension, too. They should've saved it for that moment. I was hoping for Metal Sonic over Shadow, but whatever, not for me. |

Just got out of this movie. And holy shit so fun. I really loved the first one and this one was just as good if not even a little better. Grade A

Just saw it and it was a ton of fun. I grew up a huge Sonic fan and I'm so glad this franchise is doing a great job with it. Super pumped for the next film, especially since it will feature my favorite character.
