The best season/series finale of any Marvel Disney+ show and probably the best overall season of any Marvel Disney+ show.
I have some nitpicks with the story of Season 2, but the finale swung hard for big, bold comics storytelling, and it's something the MCU really needs right now.

I càll shenanigans. No way he’s done until after Secret Wars. The Kangs will do something to destabilize the multiverse.

Loki being “burdened with glorious purpose” and being stuck in isolation for eternity holding together reality is a pretty good ending for the character, and that final shot of him was pretty damn awesome. But it does feel like there’s still a little bit more to his story in the greater MCU

If they want to pivot from Majors, just make Loki the big bad of Secret Wars. It'd be so easy, and it gives them an excuse to bring everything full circle since he was the Avenger's first foe.

Only way I could see that working is if it was a Variant that we haven’t met. OG Loki and Endgame Variant Loki both had their redemption arcs. It has to be Kang even if they recast. It’s a few years away but the rebooting of the MCU is near and we need Secret Wars to get there. Let Loki go out a hero.

The whole set up of being the God of Stories, giving up everything for the sake of billions of infinite civilisations that will never know you exist or even say thankyou are enough to embitter someone. Loki has been 'redeemed' many a time in the comics too, only to revert right back to type. It's time to stop making great villains into duller heroes.

I think creative decisions are more likely to stick in the movies because audiences associate performers with the characters so much that recasting and rebooting because a more difficult, more complicated option. It's not impossible, how many people have played Batman after all, but it's less likely. And there's less turnover with performers playing characters in front of the camera compared to all the creative changes behind the camera. And certainly less turnover when it comes to live-action superhero stories compared to comics for characters who are basically AARP-eligible at this point as drawn and written by a cavalcade of creatives. The closest thing I can think of to undoing something creative is how Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman keep coming back to do Professor X and Wolverine, respectively, when those performances got good enough send-offs in other movies before Kevin Feige and Disney came knocking.

Must give praise to Natalie Holt … her music over the two seasons were incredible.

I think one other bit of praise I'll give this season is that the pacing is so good every episode passes like the minute of a third act in a movie, like the first season feels like a two hour thing tops, or can be edited down to two hours, but the second season is the third hour and doesn't feel like you could lose anything. Remarkable. And given the showrunner changed hands, I was expecting a different vision entirely, but I suspect they were working to a specific guideline to get everyone from A to B for the multiverse saga

I watched the first episode of the season today because it’s wrapping up and I won’t have to wait week to week for it. I…didn’t like it. At all? Does it get better than the nonsense of the opener? Well, what was the nonsense? Then we can get an idea of what you're after and can say.

Which backs up up my opinion that Marvel would be stupid as shit to pivot from Kang just yet. Finish the story and reboot the MCU with Secret Wars being a love letter to all of Marvel that’s come before. Get more Kang hints in there and multiverse hints. They should have just name dropped Rama Tuts name in Moon Knight instead of just having his design on a jacket. We knew Thanos was up to some shit. It was the point of almost every movie post-Avengers. The Conqueror should not have lost in Quantumania. He should have escaped the Quantum Realm and offed Hank Pym while stranding the heroes in the Quantum Realm. Big stakes. Instead the bozo lost to some ants. Maybe it’s for the best Loveness got booted off his Avengers movie if that’s the case.

I hope this means were done with the Kangs now. Majors' trial begins in two weeks, so we'll probably know one way or another by the end of the year.
