Well I guess it was bound to happen, but after releasing Hit Row I’m just f***ing done. I don’t watch the E regularly regardless, but I finally took it off of my dvr to even record it.

Of course they're well within their right and I'm sure a bunch of people will defend it and play the whatabout game, but I must honestly say the way this company does business with their talent rubs me the wrong way. It's truly pathetic and an embarrassment considering how much money they make and will continue to make for the foreseeable future just by coasting on being the top household name in their industry. Needing talent that will be vaccinated when you tour certain cities/countries and venues is one thing, but a lot of these cuts aren't related to that and are completely unnecessary. You made the decision as a company to over-sign talent, you regretted it, and now it's a mess. I don't think there's any sort of long-term planning or creative vision for 95% of the roster, and that's a low estimate.

Everyone who thought the women's revolution stuff was at least in part a shameless PR handjob is now sad to have been proven so right, because they went right back to putting a pig in charge of things and he's absolutely doing his pig shit all over again. Vince knew what he was doing bringing Ace and Bruce Prichard back. He wants what they want, or he wouldn't have handed them the keys.

Did anyone get released on Friday or was the big bunch on Thursday the last bunch? If the latter, can we update the thread title ala Springfield Power Plant as my reaction there was "Oh shit, who now?" Ta.

I’m more than a little suspicious that all this cost cutting is Vince getting ready for his swan song. Pump up the profits as much as possible yo make the stick price as high as possible-then he and all his top cronies sell their shares and ride off into the sunset, leaving the board of directors to handle the wreckage.

I think for most of the talents released, the writing was on the wall a long time ago when Vince turned his attention to NXT and would have been part of an even bigger talent cut had they not needed to do damage control over their handling of the virus. From Vince's perspective, all the guys from NXT who were big names to the fans, they weren't big names to him, they were developmental talent who weren't what he wants in stars and on high wages compared to what they were paying inexperienced signees (Cezar Bononi was paid around 700 dollars a week) to boot.
Roman and Randy are what Vince wants in terms of size, look, age and level of experience when signed, unfortunately most of the indie names Hunter signed are not. Hunter is out, so now there's no-one to run interference on talent relations the way he and JR did, Laurinaitis is a straight up conduit for Vince's will. So when Vince wants a clean slate, he'll cut no matter what the talents were doing.
We probably haven't seen the end of the cuts, though many will come through contracts expiring, Regal and NXT trainers will probably ne swept up in the next round of cuts, with guys from the failed developmental programs of years passed given calls. Al Snow, Bill DeMott, even Hardcore Holly wouldn't bd out of the question as NXT is reshaped into DSW MKII.

I’d like to think the training staff would be slightly more safe than what is being implied, at least until there is some smoke to that specific fire. They just seem to want their people to look like 2004 OVW, not to wrestle like it.

Well, Top Dolla himself confirmed calling the office about B-Fab. Commendable i’d say, but yeah he probably sealed their fates with that move. The more that WWE claims people are difficult to work with... the more I think that actually translates to "They weren't going to just sit back and take the bullshit they were being given so we fired them" For the most part yes. But again Bryan said Top Dolla had a lot of heat even in NXT. I love Swerve and dude is gonna be a star wherever he goes but judging by all of their social media... I can buy that they could rub people thr wrong way. Of course I believe the reason they were all released is Vince thought Top Dolla would be the star and once he got on the bad side they never saw anything with Swerve or Adonis. And let's not forgot Top Dolla has heat with the Bucks/AEW too

Vince was dead certain about it. I can't speak for Steph, but I always got the feeling, just from how he was booking NXT when he had zero pressure on himself, that Triple H genuinely wanted to raise the profile of women's wrestling in the company. I don't know the motivations for why and I won't try to speak to it, but before it was to the company's benefit, he was laying that groundwork and building up a very different sort of future, and it was great to see. It wasn't for PR, it wasn't because the company wasn't getting slammed, it wasn't even just to make everyone look at him and think he was cool and good for it. On the main roster? That shit came when there was some bad PR on the company and people were calling them out, and once they reversed course it became the most overbearing mess of self-congratulatory horseshit where they started burying women who used to work for them and mysteriously omitting why things were the way they were. And now that the dust has settled? It's pretty clear they're reversing course pretty heavily. Not only does Vince know what Laurinaitis is about, but I wouldn't be surprised if in his mind, Laurinaitis will hire "better" (read: more conventionally attractive) women. Johnny Ace hired women who Vince, let's not mince words here, got to sexually harass sometimes. Triple H hired women for their wrestling ability and wanted them to wrestle.

So to add to Taya here, after her twitter post about WWE not caring about talent of fans she got hit by a bunch of WWE fans using alot of words to say "capitalism baby".
I'm not really sure how anyone can really think that she has no place to be upset that her and her husband lost their jobs during the holidays.
I at times do think there's a difference in wrestling fans and WWE fans thats for sure.

It really is indicitive of and let me be careful how I say this as not to make this anything more than what I am saying but simply divisiveness and where one stands in the world right now is so prevelent right now. So no surprise it bleeds into wrestling much stronger than usual now to.

The more Vince tries to erase everything Hunter has done, the more it’s going to solidify Trips’s reputation with us, because he’s just proving Hunter right.
