...so why didn't that just happen in the first place?
Like, if they didn't like Joe on commentary, why didn't they just send him to NXT to take some kind of role there?
It makes complete sense if he does become GM and replaces Regal (considering the angle they were doing throughout the show) but the lopsidedness to get there is just weird.

The writeup makes it sound like NXT is its own separate company right now. Hopefully they start referring to the main roster as "up north"

"Why do things in an ass backwards way?" is the universal question for about 85% of WWE's decisions.

I want Joe to run into Vince backstage eating some cookies and checking his bank account. “Sup old man?”

It's just with stuff like this, I don't think WWE knows what "reassigning" means most of the time. Ember Moon and Finn Balor might as well be a mini oasis in the baffling decision desert.

Possibly to bolster how it looks in the Quarterly revenue meetings?

The last few news/newz reports out of WWE have been really concerning, from a business perspective. There seems to be an abnormal amount of "tail wagging the dog" kind of stuff going on lately. It's crazy to me that WWE could fire anybody, and Triple H be "blindsided" by it. Even outside of his role of influence within the McMahon family, the guy is on the corporate Board of Directors.
I know this kind of stuff isn't exactly new ("who the f*** hired Raven?"), but, man WWE seems like a mess lately.

I mean, even then, they're not "officially" fired, they're still paying them for three months at most and can always retract it in that time.

Yeah, the logic behind it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. It's not a good look to straight up release him like that, and then have to rush to bring him back.

Good, I'm glad. This is what I wanted.
Joe's back in NXT. Joey Headrocker is still busting up fools in Tekken on UUDD. Joe is happy with his decision.
Dope.

The funny part in all this is WWE's most likely gonna have to give Joe a better deal as a result of this. Well played, WWE. Well played.

Is this how they're doing all their "surprise debuts" from now on?
1. Fire talent. 2. Immediately re-hire talent. 3. Tuesday rolls around and "That's the hottest "free-agent" Samoa Joe! What's he doing in NXT?! Doesnt he still have 60 days left on his no-compete clause with WWE? CONTROVERSY!" 4. Profit?

"WWE management told this man that he was going to be released, but he hasn't actually been legally released from his contract because if we do so, he would have been free to sign elsewhere. What is he doing here?!"

Also Triple H: What the f*** do you mean you fired Samoa Joe? Why did nobody tell me?

Yeah he got the chicken, good for him Also as stupid as this is, what’s being missed is as big and bad WWE is, Joe obviously had no hard feelings or the very least didn’t let it interfere with business Best of both sides for both men

I hope Joe's got the leverage here that he could say "Nah f*** that pay me more or I got to AEW". What a clown show.
