Heenan, Studd, Bundy, Andre, Race, Hercules, Rude and now Mr. Wonderful, all gone. Wow.
This is a big one. He was such a major player in the '80s boom.

I don't like cursing but it just came out, saying "oh god damn it." He actually got mad at me at an autograph signing and I feel like it's a badge of honor and I smile about it. He was actually a very kind and sweet man at shows despite his legit tough guy ways.
My grandmother died after over a decade of severe dementia and was bed ridden and as sad as Paul's passing is, I would hate knowing he went through such an awful stage of his life. I wish all the best to his sons, this man was a legend to people around the world but to him he was their dad and personal hero.
Also, he doesn't get near the credit he deserves for both his WWF and WCW. I know he left WWF very early on so didn't get to take part in a lot of their marketing but his feud with Hogan was epic and to me showed that WWF could pull off Wrestlemania III attendance with Hulk and Andre. Also he was pretty great in WCW. He never got a main event spot but he was consistently putting on top quality performances and should be credited along with names like Ricky Steamboat, Rick Rude, Steve Austin and Dustin Rhodes and others who may not have had that last match on the card.

And one-half of the Wrestlemania 1 main event is gone. RIP. As well as most of the celebrity and outside involvement. Ali, Martin, Liberace, Patterson, Snuka, likely many of the Rockettes.

Absolute shame. His 80's run with Hogan was fantastic and his WCW work, especially his tag team with Roma was underrated.

It's kind of a chicken/egg thing but I wonder what his career trajectory would have been if he got his arm fixed. He may have missed some of his Hogan run but he probably would have had a longer, more prominent career. I feel like he's not given the credit he deserves for main eventing the first WrestleMania.

Wasn't Orndorff the one who slapped Vader silly while in a towel and sandals?
I wonder if he gets to the pearly gates in sandals and they gotta open up in respect.
RIP and its hard to see these super tough dudes succumb to diseases reserved for lesser mortals like myself.

Paul always reminded me of someone, then I concluded he reminded me of something. He was real, his life was real, his death is real. Nothing in this seems tragic, no drama, even in the face of unfortunate circumstances. As far as we can tell his demise came sudden and now he isn't anymore. He died like people usually die, like your uncle or grandpa. I've read John Williams Stoner a couple of years ago. Novel about a man that's remarkably average or averagely remarkable. On paper he died a miserable death, but there was so much poetry in the bluntness. Now, thinking about Orndorff, what he achieved, how he mostly went away from public, and this, this here - maybe I construct my own Orndorff, but I think he was a blunt man of simplistic noteworthy overachievement, who died like he lived. This day four years ago I lost my father to non alcoholic liver cirhosis. It's a miserable desease, a miserable process of dying, but there is a beauty in dying a miserable death with a stoned face. God, floodgates are open.

Easily the most underrated Hogan rival when it came to drawing houses.

Man, this one hurts. Dude was an awesome heel and one of the most underrated legends in wrestling who doesn’t get enough credit for helping bring the wrestling boom of the 80s.
RIP Mr Wonderful.

RIP Mr Wonderful. Trailblazer in his day, and even in his 50s he was wrestling in WCW with work rate that put people half his age to shame.

It's crazy that almost all everyone that was in the Heenan Family including Heenan himself are no longer with us. Adonis and Missing Link were also briefly managed by Brain in 85 before they were traded to Jimmy Hart for Bundy in a 2 for 1 deal. If I'm not mistaken the only ones left are Barbarian, Haku, and Tama.

Rest in power to an unsung legend of the sport

He was someone who I began to truly appreciate by watching more of his work on the Network. Before that I was only familiar with him in the Wrestlemania 1 tag match and hadn't realised what a fantastic performer he was.
