People loved what Kevin did with He-Man here, despite people like me pushing back at it. I liked He-man revelations. I do feel like a lot wrote it off with the ending of the first half and didn't check the second half. I did see a lot of hate for it but it's tough to determine how much of that is legit. Once people realise Adam is the one getting development and not He-Man in the second part, it does pick up considerably, but it's still packed with dumb stuff (Savage He-Man, the 'Sexy time' between Skeletor and Evil-Lyn), the first half doesn't seem so bad in retrospect either. I think the complaints about Teela were justified, but not always credible either. She just needed to be more likeable for that first half to work. Evil-Lyn is actually much better in the first half than she is in the second. Kevin I think was a better writer for the show than he was as a showrunner. The episodes he penned I really enjoyed.

Really this is the best that Kevin Smith could come up with. Yawn. Do you also post as "Wolf Hawkfield no1 NZ poster," on Moviepoopshoot.com? Yes you got me. Still haven't gotten my arse kicked yet.

Kevin Smith was a guest on one of my wife's favourite podcasts recently and she turns to me the following day and asks "does he ever shut the f*** up?" That boy can talk as that beefy panel intro can attest to.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was a movie about makin' movies.
Zack and Miri Make a Porno was a movie about makin' movies.
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot was a movie about makin' movies.
Clerks III is a movie about makin' movies.
Kevin Smith is the most "makin' movies about makin' movies" motherf***er on the planet!

I wonder what kind of lies Kevin is gonna spin about this project. Then act like the victim when people call him out on it. (I'm sorry, but after the whole Masters of the Universe debacle, I have no incentive to ever trust this man again.) I, too was a massive mark for Kevin Smith until all that Masters of the Universe bullshit. That being said, Jay and Silent Bob will always have a place in my heart - as will Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Jay & silent Bob Strike Back so I'm holding out for a return to form with this new one. I just hope he doesn't let me down....!!

While I wait for Clerks 3, I found this and I love it. Odd is such a good Randall and Ulrich makes a great Dante.

I can't wait for that totally unexpected and "never-happened-before-ever" moment when Kevin Smith starts crying while he's describing what it's like to see this movie.

Saw a screening of this last night. I enjoyed it but it's definitely the weakest of the three Clerks films. You can tell that Smith nearly dying took a huge toll on how he views the Clerks universe - there's a ton of references and call-backs but also a huge "memento mori" streak that I wasn't expecting. I laughed a lot (and looooved Smith's pre-and-post-show host stuff - the dude is a fantastic storyteller) but it mainly just made me want to re-watch the first two movies yet again.

My girlfriend and I were there. Yeah, there was a good amount of stuff to like about it, but it's definitely a reunion movie in a lot of ways. He's said before he tends to go back to Clerks when he hits a new phase in his life since he put a lot of himself into Dante and Randall when he wrote the first one, and yeah, you can tell the heart attack, likely both the one that took his father and the one he went through himself, left a massive impression on him, and might be a big part of why this one felt a lot like going back into a photo album of memories instead of trying something really new. Still, when Dante and Randall get into the rhythm of his dialog it really does feel like slipping back into an old comfortable pair of sneakers or something, just sounds right when you get Jeff Anderson going on a tangent about pop culture inanity. And yeah, there were some solid laughs to be had, along with a couple "oh, shit, really?" moments. Did enjoy the story he told about George Carlin before the movie screened, but I wish the show had started earlier; when I bought the tickets the website I had checked said it started at 7, then the tickets themselves said 7:30, then they didn't really get rolling until after 7:45 and his intro wasn't done until after 8, so by the time it actually finished it was already pushing 10pm and my girlfriend had to get home to rest up for work today. Would've loved to stick around for the Q and A after, been to a couple of those in Red Bank and they're always a good time, given Smith's proclivity for motormouthing while knowing how to tell a good story.

Kevin Smith being long-winded during a live session with audiences? You don't say.

Saw it earlier. I really enjoyed it. It was a little more dramatic than I was expecting but that's not a bad thing. I think I enjoyed the first two films more but this was a nice conclusion to the film series in my opinion.

I enjoyed it, though I echo that it wasn't the strongest in the series. A lot heavier than I expected it to be. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} The reveal that Becky is dead in the beginning and having to see Dante grieve was bad enough, but having Dante die in the end was a gut punch. Though I do give them credit, because there's a decent amount of foreshadowing
