I’ve seen his elbow drop. He cannot fly. I mean, he's clearly Pumaman, then.

Bryan finished out his contract without renewing it, just like Moxley did. Theoretically, he could've started wrestling in New Japan, AEW, or elsewhere the moment it expired, but I think he wanted to heal up as well as be there for Brie and their children for awhile. Are you telling me that Bryan Danielson wanted to be a family man and stay home for a bit with his hot wife and adorable children? THE NERVE OF THAT GUY!!!

Man, the closer this gets to happening the more I wish there had been no word about Punk at all until he showed.
Yes, it'll still be a huge moment, but can you imagine what it would have been like for it to come literally out of nowhere? I say this because as good/hot as the product has been lately you wouldn't have really needed him to sell the show. I know some people think you have to borderline tease it for ratings, but you could potentially have gotten the same effect from a bunch of people tuning in the following weeks to find out why the hell he was there and what his plans are. Not to mention the social media blow-up/etc.
This is just what I would have done were I in Tony's shoes.

Yes, a Punk outta nowhere would be an all-time great holy shit moment, but at the same time just the mere rumour of him will likely break PPV buys for All-Out.

I think selling out The United Center just on the wink wink nudge nudge notion that it would be CM Punk's first show explains why it's a good thing this wasn't completely tight lipped. AEW's making out on an incredible gate and will probably spike their All Out buyrate if he's announced for the card too.

Bischoff talked about this on a clip with Conrad, basically surprise vs anticipation and how both are independently crucial in wrestling. I agree: Had it remained hush hush, the reaction would have been nuclear but this anticipation has also been kind of awesome, so, win-win I’d say.

Today it's super easy to leak anything, especially with social media. You can even find MCU leaks in seconds.

But this was gonna be a tall order to keep quiet. After the United Center announcement it was all but a forgone conclusion albeit a good one.

Going out on a long limb, but I'm gonna guess that the first Dynamite with Punk is gonna score a 1.5 or even 2.0 . I can see a lot of Punk fans who aren't necessarily into AEW tune in in droves. Even if it's only for that one day.

I will say this as someone who really doesn't care one way or another if he actually shows: if AEW doesn't deliver on this insinuated promise, there's going to be some serious uproar and blowback from the Chicago crowd if not the social media outlets as a whole, especially leading into their next PPV. Yeah, they can play it off like they've done plenty of times in the past, but they're playing with serious fire going into this so one would hope they be careful.

I honestly believe they were going to get The United Center for Dynamite, but didn't have Punk in writing by the time it came to book the building, so that's why we were at Dailys this week.

I sort of take the view that the second week of Rampage was supposed to be somewhere else but when the Punk deal came about, they scrambled for the United Centre because why wouldn’t you?
