Yay, way to have a relatively lighthearted thread hijacked by our McMahon issues! You forgot to mention that those were also titles Macho Man held, hmmmmmmm.... And funny, her father is much better at looking vulnerable and losing when he has to. Always has been. Even Triple H did the same at least more than she did. BTW, is this actually Ryback? Just curious, LOL. In my defense Stephanie took a show that used to be about grown men "playfighting" as JR says, and went out of her way to make the show about her instead. 🤷♂️ And no, this is definitely not RyCrap lol You can take a joke, big props to you for that.

Anyone got the picture of Umaga with the TNA Tag Championship? Found it. Shame Ekmo didn't get the chance to come back and make it official. Hope you're resting easy big guy. Wait, what?! When and how? So many questions regarding this photo.

Going to beg to differ. Luger made as much sense as anyone to chase the title, but the whole Mister USA thing was just way too cheesy and forced, particularly with the gimmick he had been doing up to then. It would have been fine to just turn Lex fave as the one to stand up to Yoko, you didn’t need to try to replicate Hogan. my point was at the time the Lex Express stuff did work to get him over. If they let him actually win the title like originally planned it would have been seen as a decent but likely shorter reign. He was not going to be the long term replacement for Hulk like Vince wanted for several reasons but the Express Run would probably be remembered better regardless of how out of nowhere teh change was. What I want to know is, if Lex did win the championship? Where would they go from there? My guess is Yoko would keep challenging him for the title only to lose until he drops it to Bret at Wrestlemania X. After that, he'd drop down the card fighting in pointless midcard feuds. Pretty much the same as before.

In time, I have grown fond of wanting to see this happen, despite not wanting to see it as a youngster. Considering how long Dibiase held it for without much payoff, he could have lost it and won it back from Roberts easily.

He never won the belt but I think it was on one of those TNA house shows that they used to have, kind of like the ones that Hermie Sadler used to run?

This one counts for Stu and Davey. Not for Bret. “If you wanted to try me Bret, why didn’t you try me?”

I still have a few on an old hard drive. This had to have been in 2009. Sometime between the time of his WWE release and his death, which tragically happened not long after his release. I didn't think TNA was doing house shows at that time. Or maybe my memory isn't what it used to be.

It lead to Bossman’s face turn, one of the best promos ever at Mania 6…followed by a match not a soul remembers. That promo though….

My main takeaway from this thread is that the Winged Eagle makes anyone look like a star.

I mean, that wasn't a real championship to begin with. They had that belt made to represent 'the real world championship.' At the time, it was usually confused with a WWF Tag Team Championship belt, but it was specially made for Ric. Waaaay late, but what a pretty belt. 😍

When Iron Sheik was big into the autograph signings he would have a replica Big Gold Belt he would bring to shows and drape over fans shoulder for them to wear. I don't have pics but I remember my father wondering how he got to keep a belt. LOL. I guess he never heard of replica's and it wasn't the belt Sheik won. Though it was cool for a fan picture.

Shiek has gotten more mileage out of being champion for about a month than most guys get out of their entire career.
