Still absolutely baffling that they never had even a brief run with the titles

I know that this whole gimmick felt pretty forced for Lex, but he looks great with that belt. Shame he never got it. They filmed some sort of WWF tv segment with him as champion in 1993/1994. Not sure if it was a test. youtu.be/Ucuy9jY2EUkIt just looks right. Poor Lexi, they should have just done it for a short run. Brett would have got it soon enough.

Sigh. The most over tag team in WWE in like a decade either way (end of the TLC era, to when the New Day/Usos started becoming big) and they never got the belts.

It's from this match: WWF @ Springfield, MA – Civic Center – November 12, 1991 (8,900; sell out) Wrestling Challenge taping: All American Wrestling – 12/8/91: WWF IC Champion Bret Hart pinned the Barbarian (sub. for the Warlord) at 12:26 by blocking a suplex attempt with an inside cradle (WrestleFest 92, Best of the WWF: Superheroes)

This one is a mess. So the NWA stripped Christian Cage of the NWA title as their agreement with TNA formally ended, however that SAME evening, Christian still defended the title and Kurt Angle won in a Dusty finish. TNA recognizes Kurt as the winner of that match and the first TNA champion, despite winning a completely different title in the match itself. Christian was NOT recognized as a TNA champion at the time, so he defended nothing, and lost and somehow that made Kurt Angle the first TNA Champ. To make things even more confusing, Kurt Angle was stripped of the title a night later, just to win it back a month later. So here is Kurt Angle celebrating a title that he didn't win, in a match he did win, but he did win a title that did not exist yet.

Saw this on Twitter today. Michael Jackson on the cover of the single for the 1989 song Liberian Girl, wore a replica of the NWA International Tag Team title. Also if you’ve never seen the music video for Liberian Girl go check it out. It’s pure 80s.

It's kind of wild that Christian became the Impact/TNA champion for the first time... in AEW by beating Kenny Omega. He never won the title during his TNA stay after the split from the NWA.
