Jesus, I thought Harvey Elliott had definitely snapped something there but it’s “just” a dislocated ankle.

i didn't think i was a foul, let alone a red card, as it looks like he got his foot caught on the ground ... very unfortunate though

Similar to Son on Andre Gomes a few seasons ago, when there is a serious injury like that the precedent seems to be that the player gets a red, unless you are Jordan Pickford. Gutted for Harvey, he is such a talent. Hoping he makes a swift recovery.

Young Boys beat Man Utd. I’m not going to make any Young Boys puns because I’ve made them all already.
Barca predictably rubbish again as they lose 3 nil at home to Bayern who are definitely contenders again this year.
4 penalties in the Salzburg v Sevilla game with 2 being scored (1 from each team) and 2 missed (both by Salzburg).

I think the Liverpool game last night and Ronaldo’s return game for Man U last Saturday shows how good it is to have the fans back. You can’t beat the roar of the crowd. No doubt it lifts the players as well.

So despite not losing a game for three years and winning the European Championship, Italy are ranked #5 in the latest World rankings. I know World rankings aren’t exactly meaningful but fifth? Come the f*** on.

Derby go into administration. That will mean a 12 point deduction on top of them possibly facing further points deductions from previous rule breaks with finances. What a f***ing mess.

Bonkers finish to United/West Ham.
That was the first penalty David De Gea saved since April 2016.
He had conceded on the last 40 taken against him.
Terrible decision by David Moyes to bring on a cold Mark Noble.

A bit of history will be made in the Watford v Newcastle game in the Premier League this coming Saturday. Australian Jarred Gillett will be the first overseas referee to officiate a Premier League match.
As an Aussie (and former referee myself) I have followed his career pretty closely. He moved to the UK in 2019 to take up a research position at John Moores University in Liverpool. He started officiating in League Two immediately. Within 2 weeks he was in charge of fixtures in the Championship. He has plenty of experience having officiated in over 150 games in the A-League & also worked in leagues in India, China, Saudi Arabia as well as AFC Champions League & World Cup Qualifiers.

In something that'll have big ramifications from the off, Dazn might be the ones to buy BT Sport from BT by the end of the month.

I just clicked on that channel going "Oh crap I ain't heard of these guys in donkeys, I wonder what they've done"...one of their most recent videos is 20 minutes on why my local team is the most hated in the country. That just feels personal

The AFC Fylde one? Just watched that one today. Yeah, the video was good and a lot of it was true sadly. They did keep saying Wesham wrong which is annoying and to the club's credit they do a lot for the community but ai he isn't the best of people Dave
